Alps 2 are an outfit with pedigree: as performers they’ve toured with Maribou State; as individuals, they have released on Ralph Lawson’s 2020 Vision and Fatboy Slim’s Southern Fried Records. And as a collective, they’ve launched Selby Soul, receiving support from Radio 6 Music. Now, Ad Hoc Records proudly presents Alps 2 on Burnt EP, alongside Manchester legend, Goddard, on remix duties.
 
 
 
Burnt EP is a showcase of ambient mastery - a wistful folktronic collage akin to the mellower stylings of Four Tet, Seb Wildblood and Ross From Friends. Listen for an eternally poised array of mesmeric shuffles and eclectic vocal chops that hint at its creators’ genre-skipping technical expertise.
 
Slipping between states of rhythmic formality (Duck Tape) and freeform soundscapes (Empting), Burnt EP vibrates on multiple levels. Threads of hip hop and lo-fi house (Burnt) embroider the tracklisting, uncovering a finessed sound that is at once both mellowed and full of intent.

Zuntyh delivers 'Space 707' to the YUNG DUMB Records catalog to cap off summer 2020.  The France-native offers up four classically-influenced and floor-effective house numbers, varying in energy and mood, but never straying from a heavy focus on the rhythms and emotive grooves.  Jim Casanova's cameo appearance on the b-side comes with a left field club hybrid of the EP's most driven track, 'Work It', to close out the EP. Zuntyh's 'Space 707' EP is a timely mix of reflection and futurism, not to mention pure house music.

Germany’s Peter Grummich has been releasing his twist on House and Techno over the past two decades via the likes of Shitkatapult, Kompakt, Spectral Sound, Mule Musiq and of course his very own Innerbird. Here though we see Peter deliver his latest works via Bengoa’s fledgling B2 Recordings, which sees him experimenting with some outboard classics like the classic Casio RZ-1 drum machine and the Roland JX8P synthesizer to create a raw, old school feel.
