OW4 Floid - Yayomia 

For the next release on Omen Wapta, Delft based producer and digital sound artist Floid builds trip-like atmospheric sound pieces. Letting go of specific genres or ideas, the artist has a skilled and intuition based approach to electronic music production. While not building towards a peak, he creates endless rhythms and active narratives elevating each other by surprising intervals. 

OW4 'Yayomia' is part of a new digital-only series on the label, seeking to discover different territories of sound. In this five-track EP, Floid translates his fascination for dancing crowds, into mind-leading sonic spaces to slowly get lost in. Here, the producer takes constancy, repetition and glitchy influences to an own interpretation of hypnotic deep techno. The outcome is a series trippy danceable soundscapes, to fall into trance with.

We’re delighted to finally share with you PROXIMITY III, the third instalment of our annual Pure Space compilation series. Across the 19 tracks, 22 artists find synergy across the spectrum of experimental electronica.

Creeping through deep d’n’b, blisteringly fast idm, and percussive club cuts across to bass laden experimental music, blissful tech and peak energy techno, we hope this release provides an access point for all electronic music lovers to explore the depths of the so called ‘Australian’ subterranean music landscape.

Loek Frey’s Add Interaction is an exercise in damp, eerie atmospherics and intricate drum patterns. On this latest Omen Wapta release, the Dutch producer hones the experimental shades of his sound traversing drum and bass, IDM and breakbeat deconstructed with unexpected tempo shifts and effects.

Produced during the pandemic, the six-track EP explores and conjures a sense of loneliness, solitude and unfamiliarity. The producer is attuned to exploring the boundaries of music production and doesn’t shy from taking the listener to unexpected places. Experimental sounds shift between celestial and subterranean realms. There are tunneling, meditative low-end structures fit for a journey through the earth’s layers down to its core. Meanwhile expansive, pearlescent vocals evoke spiritual bodies. Soundscape-leaning IDM is woven into polyrhythms and muted breakbeat stitching tight, individual tracks into an overall engaging listening experience.

Add Interaction was a response to a time when introspection was our default status. The EP invites an opportunity to engage with the sounds and world around us in a different way. Frey’s release positions him as a teacher of brooding textures. The unpredictability can draw you deep into the sonic abyss — if you let it.
