For our 38th instalment of ‘The Inner Sound’, we invite Bristol-based multidisciplinary artist + musical platform: @dreamsoftwarecorp.

From the depths of the ethernet, Dream Software presents a utopian vision in every facet of his outputs. From releasing music that sounds far ahead of our time from up-and-coming artists such as Jon Jones, Wigs, Beltrac & a recent reissue of 90s works from Alien Signal, to collating his own vast collection and showcasing it through his many sets, online mixes, and radio guest spots.

Tap in (or out) to this 2-hour and 40-minute time frame of sonic reveries, where you’ll be taken to an oasis of mind-melting and nurturing rhythms, getting lost and far from your physical being, only to return with an expansive breath of new life.

For this mix, I tried to find the sweet spot between sultry and haunting; cerebral yet somatic. It came together almost on its own—a gently cascading rabbit hole of tech and dubstep, guided by indulgent pads and dubbed-out chords.

Injection Box returns with a rare transmission from Greg Beato (@oteab_gerg), the elusive Miami-based producer and DJ behind a decade’s worth of raw, left-of-center club tools. Known for releases on revered imprints like @l-i-e-s and @apronrecords, Beato resurfaces with his first official set since his mix for @dkmntl in 2016.

He last played for us in 2019, joining a bill that included live sets from Ectomorph and Ultradyne. Now, he delivers a characteristically unfiltered ride. Fractured rhythms, analog grit, and machine workouts collide from a voice rooted deep in the raw, no-frills heart of the scene.

This one’s tense, hypnotic, and unmistakably banging.

An incredibly overdue contribution from a prolific Australian born but Berlin based producer/DJ, @rudolf-c. Rudolf C, co-founder of the incredible @salt-mines label, has been releasing groovy, electro-tinged music into the world since 2015 - over 10 years of consistently impressive tunes. 

Ru is also a committed member of the Berlin music community and DJS regularly throughout Europe. A vinyl boss with the skills & taste only one with over a decade of experience one can acquire - we're lucky enough to showcase one of his recent studio mixes on Animix this week. Glitchy-techy-minimal-dubby, and some sexy acid lines for good measure. A perfect fit for the series.
