Recording of OOR_Scintilla's intimate live performance at Edinburgh's Settlement Projects on 20th February 2025, supporting headliners Able Noise during the tour of their debut album High Tide. Also with support by Cowboy Builder. Organised by PX4M. 

Able Noise is George Knegtel and Alex Andropoulos’ experimental baritone guitar and drum duo, based between The Hague, the Netherlands and Athens, Greece. OOR_Scintilla are a Scotland based experimental artist duo exploring the material poetics of sound, voice and place. Working improvisationally with numerous forms of resonance across field recording, instruments, electronics + the voice, they produce environmentally-responsive work investigating hybrid and enigmatic territories with reference to ancient folk origins.

Cowboy Builder will perform at this show as a two piece. Slow plaintive music. Warped 2020's interpretation of folk. Harmonies that take a minute to resolve. Backwards sounds. Head nodding beats but half of them are missing.

Habitat = coral reef
Note = Autonomous recorder running during 24h. This extract features loud clicks by snapping shrimps, knocking sounds by damselfishes, boomy sounds probably by Pomacanthus Semicirculatus. Depth approx. 2-3 meters, high tide, about one week after a typhoon. Please use headphones or decent loudspeakers.

In the rain-laden air of June,
the three presences touch for a moment,
and the sounds layered across years rise with a quiet shimmer.

The resonance of wood, the tremor of strings, the drift of air,
the subtle grain of overtones and object-sounds—
each keeps its own breath, yet together they form a single current
that gently carries the differing names and moods of rain.

The album will be released in late November 2025 on omnimemento.

Jak się ma muzyka w jej osobistym niby straconym czasie, kiedy nikt jej nie słucha tutaj, ani nie wykonuje na żywo, a jeśli gra to już jej odbicie, z inną „osobistością”? Kiedy jej właściciel, twórca, znika wraz z nią jako organiczną częścią siebie samego na zawsze. Na ile zapoznana przez nas forma tej muzyki jest tożsama z jej wzajemnymi relacjami wewnętrznymi z autorem? Co się dzieje, jeśli ta forma, przynajmniej w sensie czytelnej dla nas całości, jest uniesiona poza uwagę i dostępna raczej w bezkształcie?
