It seems appropriate that the 88th edition in our 1 More Mix series flexes heavily on a time travelling vibe…

Courtesy of Moakz, it’s an absolutely stunning 100 minute exploration and celebration of jungle music’s most timeless, emotional, musical, soulful and dynamic parameters qualities.

At points bone-shaking, at others soul-quaking and forever peppered with exclusive forthcoming tracks; It all comes from one label: Codename : RCRDS.  

Co-founded and run by Moakz alongside fellow Southampton junglist Chiron, the label was born through their club nights Codename : AMEN. The label only launched in April 2023. yet, as both their catalogue and this mix shows, they’ve already curated a remarkable wealth of contemporary, forward-thinking jungle… Including their first VA album which dropped last Friday March 15.

Entitled Look To The Future Vol 1, it’s a 10 track trip into jungle’s most futuristic motifs and characteristics from some of the label’s key artists and peers. Arcologies, Con-Figure, Digital Altair, Eschaton, Fortune & Chance, Marc OFX, Mineral, Moakz, NonRev, Wez Walker, Perpsective R and Trident all feature on the album as the Codename crew unite to hard salute the atmospheric legacy and influence of imprints such as Good Looking Records while still keeping firm eyes on what’s ahead.

We’ll be digging into the rich influence of atmospheric jungle drum & bass on the album next week with a spotlight on each contributing artist. Offish Productions Showcase Mix #13 - Mixed by Offish (Plot Holes Vol. 2 premiere)

Managed to get my hands on some represses of some old classics recently and have had lots of new music also stacking up I was desperate to get into a set also so this mix is the result.

The set features remastered represses of 2 of my favourite classics from FBD Project - The Core and She's So Revisited on Bangin' Tunes, other classic slices of wax from Intense and Tayla on the GLR sublabels Nexus and Diverse Recordings and 2 belters from Omni Trio back from 1993.

Have also rediscovered the Colours Album by Adam F released back in 1997 and have selected my picks of the tracks from that superb LP.

Lots of upfront Atmospheric music also with a number of cuts from the 2 new Spatial LP's - Reflections by ASC and Infinity Spectrum by Aural Imbalance - both LP's are mindblowing stuff once again and 2 new tracks from Mineral I am loving at the moment called The Bay and Until You Awaken plus the immense Transluscent Universe from Eschaton and finally wrapping up with the absolutely superb Out Of The Rain by Non-Rev.

Also some autonomic/half time styles in there from the superb Long Distance EP by Bungle on Okbron.

Mixed on 2 x Technics 1210 MK7 turntable with a Numark M4 Mixer.

This duo have been making their presence known recently with a string of epic releases and showing no signs of stopping; present us with 3 tracks of deep drum and bass. Showcasing different moods, these 3 tracks show their skill and versatility as they cleverly weave from ominous thundering drums to delicately edited breaks and atmospheres.
