Omni welcomes another newcomer, the talented Modular II. They present an EP of diverse and dazzling sounds. The opener Ghost in the Machine walks the thin line between Jungle and Atmospheric sounds with classic breaks, deep subs and drifting pads. Nice Vibe is exactly what it says it is, a head-nodding journey into trance-inducing smiles with rolling breaks and dreamy arpeggios. The Bladerunner lowers the tempo slightly, but not the vibe, as crisp breakbeats are complimented by swirling pads and techno-infused elements. The EP ends on the energetic sounds of Vibrations that is designed to get any dancefloor moving with it's trance-inspired synths, shuffling rhythms and bewitching melodics. This is a fine debut for Omni Music and we look forward to welcoming them back soon.

Part 2 of the ‘Drifting…’ trilogy of releases, ‘Keys For A Drifting Rose EP’ is the fourth release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. 

Keys For A Drifting Rose commences with ‘The One’ by the atmos master Okee, a dreamy inward looking roller for the ages, alternating haunting vocals perfectly capturing feelings of post-rave isolation. Man of the moment Mineral returns to the label with ‘Shallow’, contrasting chopped breaks, atmospheric tones and deep rumbling basses in a beautiful example of his truly unique sound.

Next up we find the prolific NonRev in commanding form, with the mysterious and powerful roller ‘Private Eye’, perfectly primed to get dancefloors moving with it’s rumbling basslines, intricate drum edits and catchy vocals, before the EP closes with Bottoni (prev Sam Link)’s fascinating reworking of ‘Shallow’, where a half-time rhythm is interspersed with the breakbeat choppage and atmospherics of Mineral’s original, clearly demonstrating the talents of this unique and talent artist.
