Bought in 1983 (album "Legionnaires" by Michael Cretu), including this song on it. 'Golden Years': a track that never, really NEVER left my mind. Maybe I'll make different cover versions of it (if I don't get a lawsuit from the record company (Virgin Rec), or from Mr. Cretu personally) 🙄

Anyway, this is my ambient version of this incredibly great song. Short, but - in my opinion - well-done 😆

basic stuff were audio and midi loops, which contained also the wonderful headline melody. I added some synths like strings, bass, additional drums, this vocal like synth and finally my saxophone lines :-) ... Enjoy

This is a remix I did for Minimal_Drone*GRL's remix album “Origins Revisited” a couple years back.

The remix title is a nod to my Depeche Mode influence creeping out, which I usually don't pursue on my own tracks.  Whenever I listen to this I want to play their "A Broken Frame " album.
