The Fossegrim is a mystical being that is closely related to the Norwegian troll. It is said that his enchanting fiddle music could make trees dance and rivers stop in their place. His music would often be mistaken for singing birds, whistling wind, or flowing water. It was feared that he would appear during parties and celebrations because his music could even make tables and benches, dishware, and cutlery move and dance wildly...
