whispered on the wind that whistles through the west
was there someone calling my name?
may have been the sound of the busy city streets
none the less, I came here all the same.
riding through the prairie, tapping with my foot
to the metal rhythms of the train
watching through the windows for the mountain range
that pulls me like a magnet through the plains.

well I reckon maybe, since I'm from the east
this could be some kind of fantasy
but if this flight of fancy makes me feel at home,
here is where I'll make my history.  
after years of searching, I keep coming back
to the land a mile above the sea
though the wind is dusty, and rain seldom falls
this is where I know I have to be.
