King Kooba return with their new Drum & Bass EP, Rapido featuring the lead single, ‘Smoking Room,’ a massive stretched out tune featuring Kooba signature bass lines and jazzy licks creating a heavy groove. Also includes the standout tune ‘Redefine,’ alongside ‘Votiac’ and ‘3113’. Stay tuned for the second EP of the new triptych from King Kooba focusing on their house music adventures coming soon.

What originally started in a pub between Charlie Tate & Matt ‘DJ Shuff’ Harris in 1994 has come full circle 30 years later! King Kooba return with a new House EP, Constante. The lead single, ‘The Ridge,’ is a classic long building deep house tune featuring a driving synth line and a steady jazz rhythm. Other featured songs include ‘Navias,’ ‘Denik’ and ‘Radio Faber’ all in the dubbed out ambient house territory. Stay tuned for the final EP in the series coming in 2026 celebrating their downtempo excursions.

Doh Zen is an electric piano, breaks and bass rolling groover, complete with string stabs and global atmospherics reminiscent of the classic Om Lounge series. It’s the perfect soundtrack to begin the 30th year of Om Records on Valentine’s Day. We hope you enjoy the ride!

Featuring the stand out opener, Doh Zen. an electric piano, breaks and bass rolling groover, complete with string stabs and global atmospherics reminiscent of the classic Om Lounge series. Also included are the meditative breakbeats of Green Flash with electric bass and mellowed out baritone sax. Inner Mist is a mysterious track for the heads, followed by the percussive flute looped Lowereastside and Gumdrop to round everything out, It’s the perfect soundtrack to begin the 30th year of Om Records.

In a world of widening extremes, plastic fills the oceans, an insect apocalypse threatens the delicate balance of natural ecosystems and a million dead fish rise from the depths of the Murray-Darling Basin. Dread and hopelessness come naturally in the face of these overwhelming crises, but optimism still manages to persist. 

Harvey Sutherland’s rolling samba keeps a relentless pace, punctuated with a loping gospel mantra – they say there’s something in the water – delivered by Jace XL, whose past credits include live and studio recordings with Hiatus Kaiyote; backing vocals for Sampa the Great; and ‘Sacrifice’, a 2016 EP with Silent Jay released on Rhythm Section International. 

SOMETHING IN THE WATER is the first single from Harvey Sutherland’s new studio band, which comprises long-time drummer Graeme Pogson, percussionist Phil Binotto and bassist Luke Hodgson. It was recorded and produced at Harvey Sutherland’s velour-lined recording studio that might just come in handy as a survival bunker when the approaching apocalypse hits Melbourne’s inner-northern suburbs.
