DAD009 comes in the form of a collaborative 4 track extended player from 2 of the coolest cats in the game! Swedish based hi-nrg pioneer Sumorai and Japanese House & Breakbeat producer & dj Stones Taro. Expect club tools across the board with a wide variety of electronic sounds and a broad tempo variance. We’re incredibly proud to announce the details of the first release on our label - an 8-track debut album from our resident Adam Pits. Inspired by nature and written during the first lockdown, the album shows off Adam’s classical cello background as well as a broad range of electronic styles you’ll already be familiar with. In his own words:

“2020 became a year of turning misfortunes into new opportunities. The feelings of clubbing neglect and social deprivation were prominent and as a result I found myself locked away in the studio with nothing better to do than to write the music that I wished I was hearing on a large sound system in a room full of sweaty rave-goers. I was lucky enough to be surrounded by friends who were able to drag me out of the studio and get outside for some real TLC from nature. After copious amounts of elderflower picking and mushroom foraging I found myself at peace with the idea that maybe the studio wasn't my only safe place. This ended up being the catalyst for many of the ideas in the album, and in turn, helped me realise the similarities between the beauty of repetition in both music and nature. 
A Recurring Nature has come out as a genuine representation of where I’m at in my musical journey. Whilst seeking to express the aspects of music that most resonated with me, I wanted to also test myself against the elements where I felt least comfortable.”

The LP will come in both digital and 2x12” vinyl formats, with the latter featuring full art from Patch and mastering from the renowned Analogcut studio. Pressed at Record Industry and distributed by One Eye Witness. Out 16th July.

I am never happier and more excited than when I get to release a debut EP from an artist. I got sent these demos from @mariiinmusic and immediately knew they were destined for release.

There is a rawness and intensity that sometimes comes with a level of naivety and I can hear that present in these tracks. When you are near the beginning of your production journey I think you inevitably write more with feeling than anything else and I think that is why these tracks work so well.

Mariiin is a dynamite DJ and obviously has a fantastic ear for groove and what will work on the dance floor but I know from experience that being a great DJ doesn’t always translate into being a great producer. Fortunately, in Mariiin’s case it certainly has and in turn we all get the joy of experiencing these tracks. Wonderful news!

We decided to reach for a remix for the B2 and I turned to label stalwart and close friend @guavanoise for the goods. He turned one out in typical Guava style. Twisting and turning your mind as you listen. It’s a wild old ride.

I’ve been sitting on these for a good few months now and I can’t wait to share them with the world. Big shouts to Mariiin for coming through with such a sick first EP. I wish mine had been half as good as this :D

The album describes the idea of being at peace with machines and being open to the idea that in the future we will find ourselves more and more involved with one another.

After his recent easter eggs EP, this four tracker is a blend of trance, breaks, drum & bass and experimental electronica. 
Starting off the A side with the ‘Jelly Bean (Virus Outbreak Mix)’, this monster of tune will rattle your subs (and brain) with his crunchy kicks and trancey sequencing. This track will blast you off into oblivion eventually bringing you right into A2, ‘Level Quest’, a trancey chugging progressive tune building energy from the moment the first kick ignites. 
After a much needed break, the B1 puts you in an immediate trancestate lasting just a few minutes and before you know it you will be blasted into drum and bass land with ‘Tasteful Nudes’ closing out the EP.
