Giuseppe Alessandro, known as Onan, was born in Sicily in 1983. He started the exploration of broken rhythm since he was a child, thanks to his passion and his study of percussions and drum. 
From 2010 to 2015, he performed all over Italy with the Bologna Undergroud Movement (BUM), who saw him grow up professionally and artistically. 
Now Onan works with the BURNOUT collective, founded in Catania in 2015 with Trox and Rejoice, that confirmed him on the sicilian underground scene. Founder of BEANK with the artist Cristiana Piraino, in 2016, a project of contemporary art, experience that inspired him to start to produce his own music utilizing his samples.
In these years he had the opportunity to share the console with great artists like Asian Dub Foundation, Calibre, Icicle, Audio, Dj Food, Mad Professor, Roni Size, Congo Natty, Foreign Beggars, Chinese Man, J:Kenzo, Inside Info, Jahtari, Mungo’s hi-fi and many more.
It’s primarily in the dark atmosphere that Onan find his own artistic way, with the typical rhythm of bass music, from dub to hip-hop and from dubstep to drum and bass.


Onan ha iniziato l'esplorazione del ritmo spezzato fin dalla giovanissima età, grazie alla passione e allo studio di percussioni e batteria. Ha performato in giro per l’Italia, facendo parte dal 2010 al 2015 del Bologna Underground Movement, che l’ha visto crescere professionalmente e artisticamente, e dal 2015 ad oggi del collettivo BURNOUT fondato a Catania, che l’ha confermato e consacrato nella scena underground siciliana. Nel 2016, insieme alla visual artist CVP è fondatore del progetto di arte contemporanea denominato BEANK, esperienza che ha fatto maturare la voglia di produrre musica attraverso i suoi campionamenti. In questi anni ha avuto occasione di dividere la consolle con artisti di prim'ordine, quali Asian Dub Foundation, Calibre, Icicle, Audio, Dj Food, Mad Professor, Roni Size, Congo Natty, Foreign Beggars, Chinese Man, J:Kenzo , Inside Info, Jahtari, Mungo’s hi-fi e molti altri .
É soprattutto nell'atmosfera dark che Onan trova una propria collocazione artistica, avendo fatto sue le ritmiche spezzate che caratterizzano determinate tipologie di bass music, che spaziano dalla dub all’ hip-hop e dalla dubstep alla drum and bass.
