"After a few years in the making we are over the moon to add Bournemouth based Dunman to the Simply Deep catalogue. Infusing Dubstep & Grime influences with ease, Dunman has been making a stir in the scene and has swiftly risen through the ranks to become an established producer in the scene with releases on labels such as In:flux Audio, Southpoint, Project Allout Records, 1Forty & Reloaded Sounds to name a few.

The '99 Basslines EP' takes us through a brief history of Dunman productions ranging back to 2018. Starting off with the title track at 145BPM, '99 Basslines' is an aggressive punchy Grime track with outstanding synthesis work. No bassline stays the same for long before it starts twisting and oscillating in different directions, keeping the four minute long track exciting to listen to from start to finish. 

The rest of the EP follows suit in terms of excitement. 'R2D2' combines nostalgic samples alongside hollow synths with a gritty Dubstep bassline to finish it off. 'Suede Shoes' gives you a moment to catch your breath with fresh R&B flavours, before the next track 'War Fi Dem' lands with a bang. This one was such a large track it would have been rude to not feature two big vocal talents on it, the result a track entitled 'Mad', a shorter vocal friendly version with lyrical slewing from MC's Deeks & Rame, showing you they're worth their salt.

We return to Wifey settings once more for the next track 'Pistol Nights', brimming with fruity colours one would expect from a label like Pearly Whites.

Finishing the EP off with style we have the first appearance of Defiant's new alias 'Kage' as he takes his hand at remixing the title track with a wavey twist to it - just lovely stuff. 

99 Basslines shows how versatile Dunman is as a producer and that he is a force to be reckoned with. With DJ support in the past from Distance, Glume, Rapture 4D & DJ Target, Dunman is a name you need to get familiar with."

CGreco is one of the most promising Italian new talents, coming from the island of Sicily, in the deep south of Italy, he’s one of the most interesting producers of an Italian new wave and the testimony of the spreading of a renovated taste for drum and bass that goes throughout the whole state. He has already released for The Dreamers on the Dream Cycle Vol.2 compilation, and now it’s time for a banging 4-track EP of his own tunes.
Fine as fuck EP pushes the boundaries of the footwork jungle sounds, showing the production abilities of CGreco and his musical tastes. Keep an eye on this guy because he has a lot to say.

In his own words:
“Kodò, besides being a group of Japanese percussionists, whom I have admired since I was a child, expresses the meaning of ‘heartbeat’ because inside you will find multiple percussions at 160bpm with footwork rhythm. Fine As Fuck is the result of an excellent collaboration between the Spanish artist Malou Mørkeberg and the Sicilian CGreco. Soft pads and 808 drums with a few jungle influences will take you to dive deep in rhythm. Home a tak mixes jungle and juke with an addictive sound. Laser game a mix of sharp sounds accompanied by a ragga vocal that will bring you throughout the whole track.”

CGreco Bio:
CGRECO aka Cristian Greco is a Sicilian DJ Producer. He plays guitar and percussions since he was a child.
In 2016 he started producing electronic music with the aim of expanding his horizons and bringing his music out of his province.
He began to be part of a Ragusa crew called Freshness Urban Click, giving life to a series of club nights and radio shows. In CGRECO productions you will find his passion for bass music, you will feel all the influence footwork and Chicago juke, and the most frenetic amen breaks of jungle.

Simply Deep can be counted on to bring the heat with the artists they select. Now, its Dunman's turn to carry on that trend with the imminent arrival of his '99 Basslines' EP.

A co-founder of the ESC_ imprint with releases on In:flux Audio, Southpoint, Project Allout Records, 1Forty, Reloaded Sounds and more, Dunman’s no stranger to pushing the boundaries, embracing wide-ranging styles and sounds from the 140 spectrum. Listening to the '99 Basslines' EP gives you snapshots of his tastes, including elements of chugging, iron-clad dubstep, zoned-out atmospheric wave, sweet and silky-smooth R&G, and, of course, a heaped serving of powerhouse grime settings.

Adding the talents of MCs Deeks & Rame to Dunman's "War Fi Dem", which features on the EP in its own right, results in the brief but concentrated “Mad”. Their compact 16-bar flows lay over a warry beat that switches between growling, screw-face bass and the jerking rhythms of a swifter grime bouncer. “Mad” showcases another angle to an already formidable instrumental as the mic-men pass the vocals back and forth between them, infusing the track with the live organic energy that gives grime its undeniable potency.

Oh yes, it's always a great day when there's new Dunman music on the horizon. We've been treated to so many top-drawer, sick sneak-peeks recently, whether it's through tight-lipped teases on his socials or through outlets like his slick, 100% own productions mix (apart from primed cuts by Kozzie and Gallah) for the don Oblig on Rinse FM, there's a tonne of Dunman material still yet to come. Thankfully, we're getting a big ol' chunk of that here, and to maximum effect and ferocity. This time, he's linked up with 140 tastemakers Simply Deep for his debut on the acclaimed imprint, after memorable appearances on the likes of Southpoint, Siege Collective, In:flux, Reloaded and more, as well as his own, excelling esc_ imprint. We premiere the lead track from the project, a lick that clocks in at an aggressive 145pm and one that's already received support from Ternion Sound, providing a suave insight into Dunman's expert production. What a corker.
