Finally, I got to the town hidden among the sharp-nosed stones at the foot of the volcano...Putting my hand in my pocket, I pulled out a piece of paper with the initials AT inscribed on it...What could this mean? Secret entrances and exits gaped like black portals...How it's possible to find the right one? Small tablets, placed in rare, white flowers with scents, left clues...Only by trusting my heart, letting go of doubts, I managed to find the door, behind it I've met by a guide who, as promised, could show the secret trail to the top of the volcano...

The climb began...Trails replaced each other, sometimes rising to the heavens almost vertically...The mind begged to quit this venture and teleport to a soft and so dear bed...Its pleas, arguments, and convictions were interrupted by a voice:

- Did you know that the tides caused by the release of nitrous oxide from the moon push a huge mass of water through hidden and occult passages at the bottom of the oceans and forcefully drive it into the innermost depths of the Earth's treasuries, feeding it into the internal fire...Natural ventilation - a breath of Nature...

- I seem to have heard something about this...This is the very idea of the Earth's sphere existing in divine consciousness and is projected into all material forms in the universe...

By the light of the full moon, we reached the top of the Volcano ... When we came closer to the crater, which the locals described so terribly to me, I saw that everything was flooded with fire mixed with sulfur and burning bitumen...I felt moaning and shaking, an inexplicable stench, dark smoke, balls of fire continuously erupting from different places, making me erupt myself...

Struck by this inspiring and frightening at same time sight, it seemed that I was looking into the heart of the realm of the dead and in it I saw terrible fantasies and dreams of demons...

After some years of searching for records, I bumped a few times with songs dedicated to a certain lady called Carolina.

Who is she?
Where is she? 

This is a mix of songs from Latin America & Brazil. All of them are called "Carolina" for all the Carolinas we have met and who have inspired us. Teachers, sisters, lovers, neighbours, friends of friends, and even institutions!  
Dedicated to all of them.

1977, Paris France. Two brothers freshly arrived from Casamance, the Senegalese ‘Florida’, are living  the tough immigrant experience.  

Their plan: becoming pop stars. A challenge so ambitious  it sounds like science fiction at the time: Bob Marley, Fela Kuti and a handful of others artists have started making waves in the Western World , but the rise of the Pan-African sound is still at an early stage. The Touré brothers have formed a band, written some songs, and start frequently playing their music live, to great effect, at an underground theatre called the Dunois in the 13th Parisian district. 

A legendary 40-year career will follow:  16 albums released, millions of records sold, numerous world tours, awards and collabs with the likes of Manu Dibango, Talking Heads, Carlos Santana, Bill Laswell, Alpha Blondy, Bernie Worrel … 

Released in 1979, self-financed by loans from friends and allies, Mandinka Dong - The Mandinke Dance - is the genesis of Touré Kunda, the cornerstone of the band’s unique sound, at the crossroads of Disco, Funk, Pop, Reggae, Portuguese, Guinean, Cuban, Zairean, Mandinke and Soninke music.

It is an honour for Secousse and Hot Mule Records to present a complete reissue of Mandinka Dong. Faithfully restored and remastered, it will be available from the 16th September in both digital and physical formats (gatefold vinyl illustrated with photos from the artists’ archives and liner notes by Frank Tenaille, the band’s official biographer).

Somewhere at the point of intersection Andean Mountains and Equator, located a filigree carved plateu, that been created for a many many thousands of years by harmonious forces of Mother Nature...Geometrically-cosmic patterns-veins, like a maze, divide it into equal parts, uniting exactly in the middle where surrounded by crystals, rises mysterious, mirrored obelisk symbolizing axis of the Earth...

What brought us here at this moment? Patience...we will feel...

Solar disk, gradually passing one after another part of the plateu, reflected in turn from all surfaces and sublimate energy what drives ancient mechanisms - shadows become longer...A sense of presence...
Bright flashes, permeating retina and project mysterious space, shining with vibrant colors...The inner vision distinguishes silhouettes gradually appearing and filling by lots of details...After a certain moments, everything returns to square one and it becomes clear that the people around are various representatives of the autochthonous tribes, living in the territories of Ecuador, who have gathered here and now, just like us, to hear this mixtale...

Felipe Granda will lead us by secret trail through various regions of the country - from the mountains, through the jungle to the coast and along the way we will hear and get to know various rhythmic structures that so brightly reveal the inexplicable flavor of Ecuador!

‘Exile in H’ is a great gathering of spoken poetry, illbient, electronic experimentations and field recordings. Its dark, heavy industrial / noise atmospheres occasionally reach liberating climax, moving the listener away from the initially induced torpor through explosive drumlines.
