Collaborating alongside Nic Ryan, SHEATH co-operates  “Club Darcy,” an invite-only convergence of local and international talent, in East Los Angeles. Drawing inspiration from nuances of sci-fi futurism, olfactory , and avant-garde fashion collections of 2002 ; SHEATH’s sound is a collision of genres. With a deft touch, she blends pulsating techno and electro with world music, nineties pop, and contemporary rap.

Prismess BEAM (Love Amplify) is a Los Angeles-born and based producer and DJ creating compelling electronic landscapes and percussive yet thoughtful compositions. Synthesizer textures with analog beats create moments of emotion, exploration and evolution. She draws on electronica, avant-garde, futurism and nature for inspiration to imagine worlds of transcen-dance. Most recently, she was commissioned to produce new and original music for The Hammer's Made in L.A. annual exhibition via Los Angeles Contemporary Archive installation "break room." She was commissioned for original music for an augmented reality collaboration with LACMA x Snapchat by Kang Seung Lee; selected to appear in a Roland advertisement for new instrument release S-1 AIRA; interviewed for a 2-hour guest special on KXLU Loyola Marymount radio by host 55 Shades of Blue; her single "Magnetik" was selected for Feminist Synth Lab Community Compilation FSL-001; published multiple guests DJ mixes on dublab radio and two of her singles were selected for dublab Sounds of Now; performed live DJ sets for Vellum LA NFT gallery openings in the Melrose District of Los Angeles, including Jimmy Edgar.

Max is an LA-based DJ with roots in Ann Arbor, MI. Through his VPN Radio show, Surrealchemistry, he has embarked on a mission to explore the power of deep and psychedelic dance music. He's also a resident DJ for New Palm and Printshop as well as a co-organizer of the Anemone event series in LA and the annual Elixir party in Detroit.

LGR - L.A.U.R.A Takeover -June 23rd 2024

Taking over my show this month are two OG electronic music producers I highly admire - Kid606(@kid606) and Jonathan Snipes(@jonat8han) (of the band @clppng). To give some personal background, I found out about Miguel(Kid606)’s music in high school downloading it off Oink and fast forward years later we ended up playing shows together in LA. Jonathan was my sound design professor at UCLA and taught me advanced Max/MSP while also mixed my first record back in 2017. Jonathan’s mix is a “whole hour of early tigerbeat6/violent turd tracks as a tribute to Miguel“. I’m proud to have these two on my show.

Bio: One of the most playful artists in the American electronic music scene - Miguel De Pedro, aka KID606, is dedicated to bringing his uniquely reckless fucked up and beautiful music to our fucked up and beautiful world. Insipired by the best of electronica, punk, jungle, hiphop, bass, dancehall and techno, Kid606 fuses it all together with a love of pop culture that Andy Warhol would approve of. A prolific collaborator and remixer he has worked with Christopher Willits, Danny Elfman, Peaches, The Rapture, Depeche Mode, The Locust, Matmos, Lesser, Dj Rupture, Super Furry Animals and many others. Apart from running the labels Tigerbeat6, Shockout, and Tigerbass, Kid606 has performed all around the world many times over, and released records on highly regarded labels such as Ipecac, Wichita, Mille Plateaux, Fatcat, and Carpark.

One Child Policy is the sonic moniker of Dennis Ruowei Cao / 曹偌伟 , a Los Angeles based music producer, sound designer, DJ, and software engineer. Cao was raised by two electrical engineers brought up in China; they helped spark his fascination with electronic music at a very early age. 

His breakthrough debut, ​Cultural Transmissions​, released in November 2017, delivered a unique take on atmospheric techno, electro, acid and left-field house. It caught the attention of publications such as Resident Advisor, Mixmag and XLR8R. 

Soon after he released on labels such as Black Lodge (LA) , Guangzhou Underground (Guangzhou, China), and Arca's Mutants Mixtape. He runs an online radio show on Lower Grand Radio (Oakland) and has also appeared on various radio stations such as Rinse FM, NTS, The Lot Radio, Dublab, Currents.FM and others.
In late 2020, he started an electronic label called Dian Nao (电脑, “electronic brain”) with his latest EP It Mirrored Me (它反映了我), which garnered support on Apple Music editorial and Magnetic Mag.

His hybrid DJ sets explore a wide range of moody emotions and introspection through futuristic, psychedelic, hauntingly beautiful and melancholic strains of electronic music.
