The second edition of the Red Robin 7” series sees the Kiwi rub-a-dub doyens team up with their long-time friend from Kampala, Uganda, SK Simeon – for a catchy new single called Dem Wanna be my Friend.

Riding a high-octane TR 707-driven riddim, the Ugandan Firestarter provides an unusual yet compelling vocal performance. Switching up styles like a stripper on speed, he ranges from falsetto crooning to ruffneck deejaying to spoken word preaching to deliver a sermon on the dangers of fickle, fair-weather friends.

As per usual, this limited edition musical disc features a stripped-back dub on the flip, courtesy of Naram. Mastered to tape by Pole for maximum impact in the dance.

Here is a super heavy and ruff Dubplate mix of a track recorded with veteran JA artist David Jahson. He sings of a peaceful world on this heavy Rubadub riddim, in a call for no more war or conflict. We met and on the same day he heard a riddim I was mixing and wanted to record. This is the result! Along with a raw and stripped back Dub mix, and a straight version.

This is a ruff mix, and there will be another mixing session for the 7"!

Seeing as it's been a while, we have decided to put up this killer tune that we have been sat on for a few years now. It's done the rounds and tears down the dancefloor every time!

It's a remix of a classic Digi Reggae tune from the 80s by the mysterious Highgrade, who gives it a new lease of life with this scorching Ragga DnB remix!

We will eventually be pressing some of the Jungle and DnB remixes to vinyl. And when we do, it will be on the Jungla label.
