Music has One Function – To make you feel. From the second the sound waves hit your body and soul it touches your nerves and transforms your senses. Where and how will that feeling take you in the sonic journey depends on your mood, personality and your surroundings. But it is that first contact point, that magical moment when you get hooked that sets the rest of the tune.
This One Function, the first contact point will be facilitated by Jenia Akerman from Israel. Akerman started his musical experimentation since he was 16 years old, playing in outdoor parties and quickly having the itch to make his own music. Influenced by inspirational artists such as The Delta, Cosma and Hallucinogen, Akerman decided to take his craft seriously and at the age of 19 went to BPM music School. Polishing his ideas and artistic identity, he released his first release in 2009 called Tropical Energy on Spliff Music. Exploring his abilities even further, in 2011 Jenia started his first solo project Unicode, a melodic and uplifting Progressive Trance fusion. As Unicode, Akerman released his tunes in all the big labels such as Iboga, Blue Tunes, Spin Twist, and Iono Music.
As Jenia’s project developed he decided to go back to his roots with Progressive Trance project under the alias One Function. In this project, Akerman decided to focus more on spirituality, while combining oriental vocals and old school elements, which create his own unique psychedelic interpretation. His first release as One Function – Back to My Roots EP - was released in 2015 on Iono Music and received immediate attention across the world. Supported by the biggest names in the Psytrance scene, he is conquering the global sonic sphere.
After playing in the biggest events and festivals across the globe such as Indian Spirit, Hadra, Psychedelic Circus, Summer Opening, Zurich Fascht, Esoteric, ForRest-Explosion, Solar United Native, BaliKali, and many more.

Exploring his mixing skills from 2010, he soon realized it took hours of effort to figure out how to master the art of DJing, and he started playing around various clubs in Tokyo ranging from tech house, electro and progressive trance accumulating vast experience. Forming a Secret Outdoor Party Crew with his friends around 2016, he immersed himself into outdoor raves, offering high-quality entertainment in the Japanese mountains.

In constant pursuit of sounds that fit the décor of mountainous of Japan, he was influenced by the culture of Groovy Trance, Twilight Psy and Dark Psy, and joined the Swiss label Digital Shamans Records in 2020. He released his first compilation album “Chrono” through the label, giving him the opportunity to debut internationally, making him realize the differences between cultures, varying trends and essence, and the influence of the location of the events such as mountains, ocean or clubs. In search the finest illusory sounds, he decided to go back to his roots, Progressive Trance, opening his eyes once again to the beauty, comfort and its killer feel. In 2022, he met DJ Cubixx and joined the prestigious world of Iono Music.

Regarding his playstyle, he ranges from 120-150 BPM to create a story throughout his play. He has a passion for constantly searching for cutting edge underground tracks from all around the word, and naturally incorporates them into his own playstyle. Featuring hardcore spirited upper groove and fractal psychedelic sounds, he turns the highest vibes to an emotion heavy atmosphere, leaving a teary-eyed dancefloor.
