Few things are without blemish and most of us can be unforgiving in the presence of imperfection. Thus, the shadows and the darkness that seeks to stifle the light.

Imagine you're stuck with your blues buddies in a Texan desert with nothing but empty cans of oil, a guitar and a blues harp. While the sun is slowly melting your brain, you jam polyrhythm on trash cans and end up with instrumental blues rock. Something you'd never do when you're of sound mind. Are you ready for the Western showdown?

When that title slipped into my mind it was all go and the early verse work felt bluesy with certainly blue notes to sing. The chorus wrote itself around the title with jazz chords. Changing key to the variation was natural enough but quite a long journey back to the verse again.

Out on the left - she’s made it her home
Some think she’s weird – and likely getting’ stoned alone
But I’m on the hook - just reel me in
It’s the art in her bones - that makes her what she seems to be

Sometimes at night- she wakes from a dream
She runs to her paint – got to liberate that scene
Then after an hour - she’s layin’ back down

She don’t deal with accounts and rates and supermarkets
She’s driftin’ through hazy lanes and blocks of colour
And something someone said three nights ago
She put that friend in embargo
Gotta work it through on canvas - then they’ll thaw in a tryst
