Laura is a beautiful soul and friend who has been part of the Initiate adventure since the start. 

From her photography and graphic design skills, to her help and support during our events, she has been a constant presence and together, it’s been a joy to share our common passion for sound and music. 

Having been a crucial member of our team organising our Reflexions events at LaVallée, it felt natural to give Phanom a slot on our podcast.

She’s helped shape the event and create its vibe so it was a real pleasure for us to listen to her expression of it through this mix.

Mindful Life is the fourth full-length album by Italian composer and music therapist, Simone Gatto. It focuses entirely on the relationship between electronic music and emotional / bodily awareness, lending itself to meditative use at home or in storytelling DJ sets.

Combining reflective electronics with acoustic patterns and healing vocals, Simone invites the listener on an ethereal journey which removes the boundaries between mindfulness and electronic music, unearthing internal dialogue. The 11-track journey features intriguing collaborations with other music therapists and composers like Massimo Amato, Cristina Rosati, Angelo Molino and Flora Päär.

In the enveloping synthesized pads, specific compositional techniques (such as binaural beats and monaural, isochronic tones), the use of the voice, melodic scales played with acoustic instruments and unpredictable rhythmic arrangements, Mindful Life evokes the listener's imagination and accompanies them towards a profound emotional transformation; a greater expansion of consciousness.

This album is also an invitation to DJs and selectors to rediscover awareness of their place in history and society. Through these pieces it is possible to promote storytelling and conscious dance, a way to channel one's emotions and energies through physical expression, sonic response and free movement.

V3STA is an experimental Greek musician who produces an array of ambient soundscapes that at times resemble OST film music scores of Sci-Fi movies, that never existed before.
The body of her sound is based on digital sampling synthesizers and a free compositional approach. Her main inspirations come from retro-futuristic Japanese animation to cyberpunk utopias and from ambient bliss to ambient hell.

The mix that Christian has delivered us is one of those created to perfection to make it remain forever in listeners' memories. Este reputado dj gallego lleva mas de 20 años mezclando sonidos de manera energica y apasionada. Un fijo durante muchos años en las mejores cabinas de su ciudad como Telefunken, O Portiño o House Cafe. Tambien ha realizado innumerables sesiones en clubs de la geografia española, llegando a cruzar el charco para dejar su sello en varias cabinas de NYC.

Estilo marcado y sonido muy personal, en sus sesiones se mueve entre los sonidos techno hasta ritmos mas deep utilizando en ocasiones el AKA Magic Finger donde el disco, funk o la electrónica mas ambiental hacen su aparición.  
Fue uno de los animadores de la escena electrónica de su ciudad entre los años 2000 y 2019 ya que junto a su compadre Diego Santos fundaron el colectivo THE SUGAR CO.  (1999) con el cual participaron activamente en innumerables eventos .

Si queremos definir a este artista en dos palabras frente a los platos serian elegancia y contundencia a partes iguales.
