Patch notes: This was three sessions of Rings/Plaits/Magneto/Mimeophon/VCAs/Prism/Ripples through tape, recorded with Norns. One session was eurorack + oooooo on Norns looping long sections I played with a KeyStep controlling the rack (instead of Hermod/Marbles). There was also another one where I used eurorack/tape into Norns running the Cranes script.

Tape was used to saturation the audio and add warble, it's a short tape loop that I found in my box of tapes. This tape loop was actually made by Amulets, he sold some through his Bandcamp page. My person tape loops are even more warbly because they're not as well made 😄

One traveller,
Wakes another traveller,
At the sight of the sea.

The Haiku Foundation is always a rich source of inspiration. I immediately fell in love with this poem by Choshi, included in R.H. Blyth “Japanese Satirical Verses“. For those of you who are not familiar with the difference between haiku and senryu: the former tends to be about nature, while the latter refers to some aspect of human nature or emotions. Their structure is similar.

I couldn’t find any information on Choshi online, so here’s what R.H. Blyth said about our haiku of the week:

“We have here a clear example of the difference between haiku and senryu. The sight of the sea in the early morning makes someone wake up a fellow traveller. But what remains in our minds is not the sea glittering in the morning sunshine, but the shaking and awakening of the traveller by someone who hardly knows him from Adam. We feel the kinship of the men through that one touch of nature.”

From the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, I would like to take this time to THANK EVERYONE for listening to, and commenting on all my tracks. Hello!, I'm David Gordon, a.k.a. OneAmbient4, composer of layered ambient, space ambient and electronic music. Since the 1970's when electronic music made its way into my life, starting with Switched On Bach, Tomita, JMJ, and others, I became very interested in electronic music. But then, the equipment was too expensive to own. So I waited.... Along came computers and later VSTi's and software. Also the Synths have dropped in price. With the help of others, here I am.
