Johnny Trika is back on SCI+TEC to complete a tantalising trio of releases for the label. Having first made an appearance back in 2013 with his ‘Main Squeeze’ EP the Canadian producer then announced a return with the spikey ‘Punk Fools’ last summer.

Johnny’s bouncy rhythmic basslines have underpinned his previous work, and his latest collection of tracks are no different. Title track ‘Day Tripper’ thobs from the off, powered by its strong kick-drum, hollow percussion and escalating synth. Intense and powerful, the rise and fall of its master synth makes this a real helter skelter of a track.

True to its name ‘Double Trouble’ delivers a similar theme with its mistral rises and funky bass, before the ep is rounded up by the rampant drum work and frenzied vocal twists of ‘8th Voice’.

Next to drop on OneFold DGTL is All Of Me, a high-energy, festival-ready gem from Jack Rafter. Built with mid-summer in mind, the EP's title track serves up bass-heavy carnival vibes with unapologetic, chunky drum grooves and peak-time worthy builds, set to the sounds of a crowd going wild.

Second track, The End, keeps up the pace with supercharged beats and flashes of sliced vocal, climaxing in an impressive, cinematic build, a perfect candidate to rip up any dance floor. 

The release finishes with The Raid, contrasting an upbeat, groove-laden beat with distorted, ominous vocals and whining sirens. An immense hat trick of tracks in perfect time for the summer.

Our next release on Strangelove comes from Greek DJ and producer Ekoboy, with his ‘Rant’ EP. An alias of Vangelis Kostoxenakis, who is widely known for his raw, signature style with established releases on respected labels Dirtybird, Repopulate Mars, Box of Cats, Desert Hearts, NONSTOP and Farris Wheel, Ekoboy is rounding the edges and polishing the rawness with this new style. Both tracks are truly reflective of Vangelis’ newly shaped sound, oozing quality Tech House vibes that will keep you raving all night long!
