'Understand' is the explosive new release from Shaun Dean, an EP complete with killer original mix and ingenious re-work from Welsh producing talent Jay Robinson. The track gets off to a running start with a fast paced, pounding beat, and proves it's salt as full throttle dance floor fodder with high-energy ricocheting percussion and echoes of power-house vocal. 
 
Robinson's remix follows, the frantic beat of the original muted to create a lower, more underground sound, with sections falling away to distant, ethereal melodies. This light and shade gives the track a new lease of life while still celebrating the original.

Originally released by Musical Freedom, the instrumental edit of 19-year-old Oliver Heldens’ deep house smash ‘Gecko’ has become a staple in club sets for 2014, peaking at #2 in the Beatport chart and garnering support from the likes of Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Zane Lowe. 

The latest edit ‘Gecko (Overdrive)’, written and vocalled by Becky Hill during a late night recording session with MNEK, is being released by Parlophone’s vital new dance imprint FFRR. Initially written for another vocalist, Becky’s towering vocal on Gecko’s chorus was deemed the perfect fit and has already been coined the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Zane Lowe.

As a practitioner of Yeezyanity, I had to throw my own flair into this remix contest. In my opinion "Kanye" is one of the most uplifting and feel good tunes of the year. It's the type of shit that you listen to once then its embedded in your brain and makes you believe all your dreams can come true. Drew and Alex are so damn good at creating such bright and beautiful top melodies... so I took the completely opposite approach with an ugly, bassline-driven remix. Hope y'all enjoy!

Fun Facts [Yeezus Edition]:

1. If I were to fully fangirl over anyone it would be Kanye, Will Smith, Pharrell, Derek Jeter, Dirk Nowitzki, and Ellen DeGeneres

2. My #1 favorite Kanye song is "Roses" and it inspired the instrumentation of the 1st verse in my remix.

3. Freshman year of college, I wrote a paper on "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" and it was the only 'A' I got all semester. Thanks Ye.

4. I applied to Ye's design collective DONDA 2 years ago, still waiting for my call back...
