"Ragazza XXI presents on Promesses his debut album: ‘La Flor de Jimulco’. For this release the Mexican (France-based) artist goes back to his drummer roots where rhythms and percussion take a central place. One of the main goals of this album was to explore polyrhythms and syncopation with non-euro-centric influences as a way to dig into his latin american identity. The result is 9 mental club bullets somewhere between tribal guarachero, dembow, cumbia, baile funk, kuduro and tarraxo. ‘Los ríos tienen memoria’ contains field recordings from French artist Lamina. Ragazza XXI debut album will be available the 7th of May in digital and limited edition cassettes."

The original mix of ‘I Wanna Rave’ opens, as the name would suggest employing a gritty rave-tinged aesthetic via choppy, delayed stab sequences, thunderous saturated drums, skippy breaks and an amalgamation of vocal chants.
Production maestro KiNK steps in to rework ‘I Wanna Rave’ next, delivering his typically raw and dynamic style, extracting the core elements of the original and reshaping them alongside
additional twitchy electronic bass, reduced drums and ever unfolding, modulating filter work.

The machines had been turned off. It had been many years since anyone had ventured into the old warehouse, there was only some slim hope that it might still even work. Once upon a time this place had been a paradise, a kingdom and a place in which revellers came to let loose and be free.

This was back in the old days, back when the dance was all innocent and little did we know about what might lurk around the corner. The bans, the trouble, the crime, the chaos.

Yet after all this time, the machinery was still here. The speakers, the towers, the noise. He wondered for a moment, dreamt even, whether they might still have the unction to function.

DJ ojo is back with another release, following on from the well received outing on Blank Mind, things get deep and introspective on a new EP which features odd electronics and dusty, moody sounds.

If I am being honest, there isn't a whole lot that I know about INDEX:Records. Apparently, they are a record label that was started in 2017 and consists of artists from Manchester, Berlin, and Auckland. Self-described as "confusing af," INDEX:Records are clearly a group that doesn't take themselves too seriously. However, the level of in which they give absolutely no fucks should be commended. I honestly haven't laughed this hard researching a label in quite some time. For god's sake, their about page reads:

"The future is Cyborg Orgy. We, with machines, are penetrating and generating. We metabolise our instruments, giving them life and personifying them for our own devices. It is the conscious touch which has the ability to awaken the complexities of these mechanisms and arouse their own personalities."

How can you not fall in love with these guys? In all seriousness though, label heads Con + Mos actually release some highly original and experimental music. Their seventh record, which comes out today, features new music from Berlin producer Ike Zwanikken, simply known as "Ike." Featuring two original compositions and a remix by GOD69, the lads seem to be putting all that robot fucking they're doing to good use. A great example of this is Ike's "Kiwami Formed," which you can listen to above. Although elements of the song are quite futuristic and mechanical in nature, the tune still manages to exude a level of sexiness that's undeniably human. Take into account it's break-dancing assortment of electro wobbles and energetic drum patterns, it's only a matter of time before "Kiwami Formed" will have you up, dancing, and all hot and bothered.
