A nossa querida Dona Cila do Coco de Olinda soltando o verbo pela liberdade da mulherada linda !

O coco é um ritmo típico da Região Nordeste do Brasil. Há controvérsias sobre o estado em que se originou, sendo citados os estados de Pernambuco, da Paraíba e de Alagoas.[1][2][3][4][5] O nome refere-se também à dança ao som deste ritmo.

"Coco" significa cabeça, de onde vêm as músicas, de letras simples. Com influência africana e indígena, é uma dança de roda acompanhada de cantoria e executada em pares, fileiras ou círculos durante festas populares do litoral e do sertão nordestino. Recebe várias nomenclaturas diferentes, como pagode, zambê, coco de usina,[6] coco de roda, coco de embolada, coco de praia, coco do sertão, coco de umbigada, e ainda outros o nominam com o instrumento mais característico da região em que é desenvolvido, como coco de ganzá e coco de zambê. Cada grupo recria a dança e a transforma ao gosto da população local.

O som característico do coco vem de quatro instrumentos (ganzá, surdo, pandeiro e triângulo), mas o que marca mesmo a cadência desse ritmo é o repicar acelerado dos tamancos(que são usados para imitar o barulho do coco sendo quebrado). A sandália de madeira é quase como um quinto instrumento, talvez o mais importante deles. Além disso, a sonoridade é completada com as palmas. Existe uma hipótese que diz que o surgimento do coco se deu pela necessidade de concluir o piso das casas no interior, que antigamente era feito de barro. Existem também hipóteses de que a dança teria surgido nos engenhos ou nas comunidades de catadores de coco.

Already the 6th digital single from the duo, "Think It Al"' is a smoothing smoocher tune, quite unclassifiable with its unique blend of styles. On a 33% funk, 33% jazz and 33% dub instrumental, RacecaR recalls a Jurassic 5 vibe which should appeal to many fans of post-golden age hip hop grooves!

Mahala Rai Banda, Romania’s funkiest Gypsy brass band, blew minds with their 2009 album ”Ghetto Blasters”. Amongst the many hyper-fast tunes rocking on that disc there was one of sweet, laid-back grooves called ‘Balkan Reggae’.

‘Balkan Reggae’ found Mahala Rai Banda paying homage to their soul brothers in Jamaica. In the year that Jamaica is celebrating 50 Years of Independence, Mahala Rai Banda chose to reach out to their Jamaican brethren and invited London-based top dub remixer Jstar to give ‘Balkan Reggae’ a sonic turbo charge.

Long celebrated for his classic reggae hip-hop mashups, Jstar regularly tours the planet dropping good grooves on party people and pushing bass culture forward. Jstar, who knows a phat groove when he hears one, is a big Mahala Rai Banda fan. His dub remix of ‘Balkan Reggae’ keeps the tune’s lyrical, sunshine vibe while giving it an urban electro tweak and twist.
