The song was written in recognition of National Libraries Day  in England,but is applicable to all National Libraries Days around the World,its more of a week this time in the USA from April 14th-20th,its a day/week to celebrate the Libraries  rather than campaigning to save the 
many under threat,it is more of a campaign to get bodies into  Libraries and show people what they are missing  if they havnt visited them for a while,and the best way to save Libraries is to make them so well used and popular that no council will ever dare to close them!

One Man And His Beard played the final protest in front of the BBC in London in 2010 to help save BBC 6 Music,and in 2012 played the We Need Libraries song at the Speak up for Libraries Rally at Westminster Hall,London to help spread the message that many Libraries are under threat!the song has since appeared on the BBC Radio 4 Documentary"The Library Returns",In 2013 has done the"Tour De Ten Libraries" tour,playing in 10 Libraries in one day to celebrate National Libraries Day in February,and has since re-written "We Are The Winners" as "He Is A Winner" in honour of Andy Murray winning Wimbledon in July,hear the song and see the accompanying video!In 2014 the "We Need Libraries"video was created with a few celebrities and many Library supporters holding up their Library cards!this video has had over 10,000 views so far,then in August 2014 played the protest outside The Royal Courts London armed with Badger haircut and "Dont Exterminate,Vaccinate" song,this led to being asked to write a song for "The Global March For Elephants And Rhinos"which I performed at the Liverpool march in October,the same month Brian May(Queen) featured "Dont Exterminate,Vaccinate" on his website.In 2015 have played my "Keep BBC3 On TV" song at the protest/petition handover outside BBC Broadcasting House which was heavily featured on Radio1,my first ever appearance on the station,more protests to come and the"KEEP BBC3 On TV" Tour starting on May 1st.
