Following on from the enormous success of his latest EP ‘Ambitions’, which arrived in November via his new home Icons Creating Evil Art, Swedish musical troubadour David Alexander aka Summer Heart is back once again with his latest laid-back single ‘Ocean’, this time reworked by his friend foreverandever<3 who made his own Beach Haze Edit using only modular synths.
 
Capturing much of the same rich and breezy aesthetic we heard on his previous collection, ‘Ocean’ sees the artist channel a windswept and woozy groove on his return. Bringing back much of that same warm and inviting flow, cemented with slick and textured production throughout, he looks to make his first steps into 2021 a strong and confident one from start to finish.
 
Speaking about the new release, he said, "Ocean is the first part of a trilogy. It’s about being fed up with living in the city. All the noise, the grit, the snotty people. And when it seems like you’re stuck in a never ending bad rut. Things like that you know. I feel like that every now and then. Then I start thinking along the lines of what if I leave the city and just go live somewhere by the ocean. Then I can become who I really want to be.”
 
Having been performing independently for over eight years, Summer Heart is now signed to the renowned Swedish label Icons Creating Evil Art. With an already impressive roster under their belts, the imprint is set to become a welcome home to the frontman’s breezy and lovable direction. Much like his work to date, his latest collection looks to take influence and inspiration from his everyday life, which has always given him an extremely down-to-earth and relatable style of writing. Filled with his bright and euphoric aesthetic, each track looks to tell the story of the man behind the name, giving us a more humbled and intimate feel to his direction.
