Three days ago, on September 11th, Linval Carter a.k.a. Prince Jazzbo passed away at the age of 62. Today Dubbhism Deluxe releases a new Prince Jazzbo track. With mixed feelings, but also with a cause: we want to raise donations for the Prince Jazzbo Fund.

Earlier this year foundation dj and reggae producer Prince Jazzbo was diagnosed with lung cancer, and recently this disease weakened him very fast. That's when the wonderful Julie 'Zimma' White started the Prince Jazzbo Fund to help her friend. She was able to raise enough funds to improve Jazzbo's comfort level significantly during the final days of his battle with the disease. And many others also helped.

The preparations for 'What a Tribulation' actually started in January 2013. After the first bad news reached us, the project was quickly finished and all producers involved donated their tracks to the Prince Jazzbo Fund. The release was already set for September 14th when we heard the saddest news three days ago. We decided to proceed, hoping to raise extra funds. In Julie's words: "all funds will now go to help ensure that our Jazzbo has the best service that we can provide, and hope to make sure all of his children can be in attendance".

Taken from the "Salam" album, released by Oneness Records (Germany). the First Indonesian Reggae album released internationally on July 25th 2014.  this is the closing track of the album.   "Through the smoke" conveys Ras Muhamad's deepest emotion speaking of his book launching experience, Negeri Pelangi/Rainbow Country on February 17th 2013.  

It was suppose to be like any other event with music involved to be a celebration of life and its diversity.  Before the night even started off, the Indonesian Police shot barrels of TEAR-GAS into the humble venue of 300 people and into a crowd of 500 people waiting outside of the venue with no jurisdiction and justified procedure.  
Media manipulations, police harassment & biased-story sprang up shortly hours after the incident.  

This is Ras Muhamad's positive light and livication to all who were involved and supported the event.

BunZer0, Belgium’s psychonaut returns after his highly successful ‘King of the Lion’ release, the North-American Elefant Doc & Dillard finally team up, dub masters Digid & Dubbing Sun strike a pose, Quantum Soul does what he does best and even the kiwi’s Perverse join in on a signature skanker only they can build.

‘Liberation’ by BunZer0 lets you travel in a space of lively wobbles and tripped-out samples all heading towards a long-lasting meltdown. Elefant Doc & Dillard’s traditional sound in ‘A Way Of Living’ allows you to meditate on an authentic dub palette that moves through air like smoke. Elefant Doc’s dedicated formula sticks to the following original jams, which immediately put you on clouds that float to higher regions. Digid & Dubbing Sun follow up with a classy anthem stepping with confidence – and which leads you to the path of Jah. Remixing tracks like ‘A Way Of Living’ makes Quantum Soul fuse his dub technology effortlessly. 2012's “On The Ground” was the first new Black Roots album in more than twenty years and was eagerly received by fans old and new. As well as gaining numerous fantastic reviews, more than three decades after their formation, Black Roots were back as though they'd never been away and their music was equally relevant in the present as it was thirty years ago.
     
To celebrate the success of “On The Ground” and also to satisfy numerous requests from the band's fans, Sugar Shack Records released the dub counterpart to the album “On The Ground In Dub” on CD and Nubian Records on digital platforms to stream and download.

The dub mixes have been done by Louis Becket, a man who has a long history working with leading reggae bands including Misty In Roots and Culture. He has used those years of experience to craft a dub album worthy of comparison with those from the music's peak during the 1970s. Recorded with a full band including a horn section, the dubs hark back to that time before digital production and sampling took over. Focusing on the rhythm section with the horns dropping in and out, weaving a new tapestry from the original multi tracks, this is classic dub music of the sort that has been rarely made in the last thirty years, a modern dub classic.

Stripped down and rearranged, “On The Ground In Dub” is a worthy release and stands on its own merits as a fine album that will appeal to all fans of dub Equally, those that already love the vocal album will get renewed enjoyment, hearing their favorite songs reshaped with the same authentic sound and attention to detail that have helped “On The Ground” succeed so well.
