As Harmonious Discord sets the stage for it's sonic deliverables in 2014 we are happy to give you a glimpse into artists we see as steering the direction of the label over the next 12 months. Often underground and under-radar the Discordian Dreaming series aims to showcase some of the finest talent in the landscape and provide a dream-esk atmosphere that blurs the lines of genre classification. Returning to the label are skilled musicians Ivan Dbri, Vital, Ill76, PointBender and Christian Barbuto providing the listener with a new chapter in artist evolution. In addition we welcome new artists Wonder Nexus, Onium, Adam Pickrell, and Black Beanz to the HD collection furthering our commitment to quality underground oddities. Expect much more from this group of dreamers as Harmonious Discord gears up for a major 2014.

Been ridin' the waves of groove in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas since '91. Dave VanHook was introduced to music production at the age of 7. He was born a drummer! All throughout his years in school and into college, he excelled at anything having to do with percussion. When he discovered E.D.M. in 1991, it was all over. The love affair had begun, and to this day he still moves the hearts, minds, and bodies of people everywhere that he dj's or plays. His passion for the dance music industry has kept him around enough to know and work with numerous production companies and Dj's in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, such as: Crown Music Events, The Soundtribe, Dallas United, Friends With Headphones, Fully Funktional Productions, White Light Productions, Morningside Tribe, Texas Proper Productions, and Invisible Empire-as well as most of their dj's and crews. Dave VanHook has been around and intends on remaining around, as long as there is good music and good people;) Music loves us. Music gives us the ability to share a unique & incomparable intimacy with all who listen. Keep on keeping on.The scene loves me, and I love the scene. LONG LIVE ELECTRONIC MUSIC!!!! Being quoted by his peers as "Mr. Techno" this humble encyclopedia of electronic music knowledge has been there, and done that, and found ways to capture the imagination of others through his music forever. Pat passed away from ALS on 3/2021 after his 40th birthday, and created music without the use of his hands up until his passing.

Pat Fontes' love affair with music began at the tender age of 11 during the early 90s- collecting mix tapes he’d purchased at the local Portuguese market. As a teen he quickly progressed to buying records en mass of garage and house vinyl. By 16 Pat started DJing throughout Boston, and by the early 2000s was managing and later became owner of Satellite Records. During this time Pat was also a resident DJ and manager of the long standing often heralded, Midweek Techno in Cambridge with buddies Soul Clap. As a 22-year industry veteran and local hero Pat Fontes has shared the stage with the likes of Martin Buttrich, Paco Osuna, Timo Maas, Cassy, Pan Pot, The Orb, and Patrice Bamel. 

Pat’s production style is uniquely his own ranging from upbeat tech house to deep melancholic techno and house. His discography includes releases with Slumber (Amber Cox & Oona Dahl), Martin Eyer, and Derek Marin. 

In 2017, after being diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) Pat began focusing all of his energies towards his love of music and sharing that passion with others.

“My emotions run much deeper than I could imagine and I’ve been learning how to leverage this creatively. I haven’t stopped doing what I love for 21 years- and will continue ‘til I physically can’t, and have since left my mark on this world of music and beyond.”

Music has always been one of the driving forces behind Defunkt’s life.

A veteran of the Midwest rave scene, he began his DJ career in 1998 with house parties, after-hours club appearances, and underground parties throughout the Midwest and Canada. Regarded by many as one of the originators of the UK hard style in the Midwest, he helped jump-start the UK Hardhouse/Hard Dance scene in the region assaulting dance floors with his signature blend of hard, dark NRG, trance, and techno.

Having evolved and matured stylistically over the years since his early heart-stopping outings, the influence of growing up in the shadow of the Detroit music scene turned his attention to a blend of deep, tech house.

Classically trained with the violin for over a decade he is highly skilled, technical, and keen eared. Balancing the subtle and smooth with edgier driving techno rhythms comes naturally, and four minute mixes feel right at home with turntablist style cuts and drops. By maintaining a purposeful track selection Defunkt is not afraid to take the audience on a musical journey, with every set programmed live to meld emotion and dance floor experience in the moment. Notorious for extended late night sets it’s not uncommon to experience four hours or more of crate digging.

Now located in Dallas, TX, 2013 is poised to bring many new opportunities for Defunkt musically.

Booked all over the Midwest from Kansas City to Toronto, Defunkt still never passes up spinning a party – be it a 30 person house party or a 3,000 person festival. He has headlined with many respected names in the electronic music scene such as Mark EG, Paul Anthony, D.A.V.E. the Drummer, Darude, Angel Alanis, Safeword, and many others.

MrCold is a Minimal - Techno music project founded by Dimitris Matzouranis aka @Dimmat in world and downtempo music sceenes from Greece. He has started his music career from 2010 as a music composer, performer at various events, and as member of psytrance activity parties.
