La Revolución was composed by Manu Ela, a multi-faceted Chilean artist based now in Berlin. Handling the brush as an illustrator as well as the needle as a tattooist, she also sings armed with her ukulele and her pan flute.

This title refers to the own revolution that everyone must do inside himself to reach different steps in life with the goal of finding its own freedom. The singers Macarena Paz and Iralí are joining Manu in this quest with their incantations.

Four remixes complete this first release of the year 2022 with four different readings and universe from Judith Ahrends (Germany), Inessa (Austria), Dvniel (Mexico), and Dan Bay & Le Rubrique (Germany).

Marcel Dettmann's debut on the Dekmantel imprint  remixing two Vakula (aka Vedomir) tracks. So, what else to expect but forward thinking techno from the man who has been widely regarded as one of the genres most respected DJs and producers? Keywords are 'stripped, dark, raw, hypnotizing and dystopian' - we could almost say its business as usual from this long-time Berghain-resident who has remixed for Scuba, Modeselektor, Trus'Me and Junior Boys in the past, all the while releasing on zeitgeist-defining labels like Ostgut Ton, Music Man and 50Weapons.

Contemporary techno in optima forma, Dettmann's trademark treatment hits Vedomir's 'Music Suprematism' quite relentlessly here, building on shattered vocals and a seemingly endless full-throttle bassline. His second remix 'Dreams' shows the German is the undisputed master of subtle yet pounding techno. Relying heavily on the bass, the interplanetary funk comes from a hypnotizing deep and dubby synth groove. Classic.

Since WONDERWHEEL Recording's inception in 2004, Moreno Visini aka The Spy from Cairo, has been sending out dub- based electronic music that has created quite a Worldwide following. On his 3rd studio album under the name The Spy from Cairo, he switches his signature instrument, the classical Arabic Oud, to an electronic Oud which also reflects a transition in his sound throughout the album to a more cosmic & electronic dance- floor experience. The title, "Nothing New Under the Sun" reflects his constant call for people to be more united in this World rather than divided. As he says in the liner notes; "As time goes by, people never seem to learn from History, which we see repeating over & over again (and those in power seem to always stir the same old soup). I sincerely hope we wake up and see what really matters in this life and be together as one.... because all is ONE UNDER THE SUN."  

Written, produced, performed & mixed himself, the album also features some of his Brooklyn Gypsies band-mates Fatima Gozlar, Takuya Nakamura & Ilker Ciraci as well as the talents of Maalem (master gnawa musician) Ben Hassan Jaafer of the group Innov Gnawa on vocals. The album starts with a slow Oud intro backed by a heavy 808 kick to satisfy the likes of his growing Worldwide tribal female belly dance community. He then gives us some classic eastern dub with the tunes "Damascus Market Dub" & "Universal." The transition to the club dance-floor is displayed next with the funky cosmic disco based "Sahir" which has been a real hit from Ozora Festival in Hungary to the Symbiosis festival on the West coast USA. "Dub Shaabi" is a rhythm bending North African shaabi meets dub style production featuring Hassan Ben Jaafer on vocals saying "the Gnawa is coming & they bring good, positive, (sweet) things."Prophecy in Motion" & "When Giants Ruled the Earth" both come in with the disco dub beats that translate well with his string instrument melodies & solos. Next, you get a real cosmic electronic trip with "Ya Amar" & "Sirens of the Nile" showing his diverse Organic Grooves roots. Rounding off the album, "Cairo Tripper" drops some heavy mid tempo beats with apreggiating synths as the backbone for more of his top notch Oud playing.

After starting the journey of Heimlich Musik by contributing the very first EP to be released on the label, Basel-based producer Avem is returning to the Viennese imprint now with a unique collection of impressions deriving from his latest inspirations and collaborations – all packed into one colorful EP. The title “Halcyon” refers to a Greek myth about Kingfishers leaving the listener touched with some kind of emotional ambivalence. 

Three of four tracks are featuring guests and it’s all family business with Arutani and Dandara on the one hand while also establishing new connections with Zazou on the other hand. The title track “Halcyon” featuring Arutani is based on a unique melancholic mood, and “Untitled” featuring Zazou is pushing this melancholic vibe even further all the way to the maximum, using a powerful melody that immediately evokes goosebumps when dropped just at the right moment. “Plastikmenschen” with Dandara & Arutani unites the best that Basel has to offer when it comes to deep club tracks using complex drum patterns, creating an intense drive that will push you through any night. “Oh Wieso” serves as a guide through confusing festival experiences, seeming to lose track of time but always coming back to a straight direction into trippy times.

Avem’s “Halcyon” EP is an ode to friendship, and all the inspirations and impressions that these special connections create – a very well fit into the whole concept of Heimlich Musik.

Saharan artist Azu Tiwaline returns with the final part of her ‘Draw Me A Silence’ album on I.O.T Records. Azu Tiwaline is a new name for a new spirit: one of a producer inspired by the need to explore her origins, rooted in the Tunisian Sahara. The Call to a different sound, organic and raw, vibrating in the great spaces of the African desert where trance music resonates... Ecstatic ritual.
Her first album, Draw Me A Silence, conceived as a diptych, reveals the multiple facets of her identity. Uniting the bonds that connect Berber music, dub culture and techno hypnosis, Azu Tiwaline invites us to refocus on our senses and our nature. She knows how to use contrasts between light and the invisible, exploring the complexity of our emotions and the mystery that emanates from them, in a polyrhythmic chiaroscuro that runs through each one of her tracks, and of which we discover, as we go along, all the outlines.
