EYES ON YOU is a tribute to the people who keep us grounded - the ones who see us clearly, even when we don't fully see ourselves!

It's a song about pride, quiet strength and the kind of connection that propels you forward! With a more grown-up, forward-facing energy then previous works, it still keeps that warm jazz/ soul thread trickled throughout. We wrapped up recording on St.Patricks Day in London, and we left the studio with a pint of Guinness and the feeling that we made something ‘magical’

A contemporary Welsh blue-eyed soul singer songwriter Josh Hicks, self-styled after icons Amy Winehouse, Ms. Lauryn Hill and Adele, is known for his soulful emotive vocals, heartfelt storytelling and witty conversation. His sound is reminiscent of the Golden Age of American soul music, with a modern lyrical awareness.

Josh is excited to release his debut EP on 25th October 2024. ‘JOSH HICKS Live & Acoustic’, inspired by Amy Winehouse’s live acoustic performances on the BBC. It celebrates the support Josh has received from family and friends and guidance from industry experts, musicians and producers since his music career began in 2021.

Having worked closely with Emeli Sandé back in 2021, Josh went on to release his first single in 2023. Now 2024, Josh released his third single which featured on BBC Introducing Wales with Adam Walton.

Josh Hicks’ live performances have allowed him to open for Natalie Imbruglia at ‘In It Together Festival’ and be interviewed by Bronwen at BBC Radio Wales.

This year, Josh has performed for the first time at Sofa Sounds (London), Focus Wales stage at ‘In It Together’ festival and filled the room with his headline show at Porters Cardiff. Josh captivates his audience through his intense vocal expression and free-spirited performances offering them a sense of nostalgia, artistry and witty conversation, with fans singing and dancing together.
