I delivered my guitar track to my friend, Josh (Entheogenic Psychonaught) and he enjoyed adding the psychedelic, yet foundational four string fretless bass. Ken (K2 and the Three and K2 and the Four) boosted the energy level of the song when he blew our minds with his driving drums. JJ (J.J. Terrell) added the wild, dynamic organ you hear throughout. Tez (Llanpsych) brought lightning down from the sky in the solo over the third section. And last, but certainly not least, Stephen (TexMex Shaman) laid down the mind-bending guitar solos over the first two sections. He also produced and mixed it, with a little help from Ken. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as our Eclectic Collective enjoyed making it.

Magnificent island of Furön in the archipelago of Oskarshamn.

Island of Furön

Only Piano (Chris Matsikoudis) is a contemporary pianist / composer from Athens, Greece. His childhood influences were Classical composers and later listening to a lot of genres mainly Pop to Hard Rock, AOR, Progressive Metal and film scores. He early on fell in love with the piano sound through the works of Chopin, Lizst, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and later listening to pianists like Yanni, Giorgos Hatzinasios, Jordan Rudess, Keith Jarrett, David Foster, Aziza Mustafa Zadeh, Stavros Lantsias, Chick Corea, Glenn Gould, Bill Evans and Brad Mehldau. All of these pianists and later mentors shaped the Only Piano sound. He started as a self-taught musician at the age of 11 with a PC-1000 Portatone Yamaha Keyboard. He later joined the National Conservatory, starting classical piano but this path wasn’t for him. He briefly studied with notable teachers like Julie Troussa (Piano Technique) at Skalkota Conservatory, Manolis Papasifakis (Jazz Hanon) at NTUA musical dpt and Alkis Tsertsetis (Classical Theory and Harmony) at National Conservatory.  Later on he was devoted to Jazz, studying Modal Jazz Harmony with legendary Jazz pianist Marcos Alexiou and Jazz Technique and Standards with the famous Jazz pianist George Psychogios. Meanwhile he was performing live at several Venues in Greece with a variety of Greek bands: Acrobates (Greek Rock), Intravenous (Ethnic Jazz), Big Trouble (R&B) and gave sporadically some solo concerts. In 2011 he co-established the Fusion band "Nagare" which produced an LP with the homonym title in 2018. The band is still active and preparing their second album. Only Piano continues his musical research through various publications and online courses and he has already produced 3 LP’s: In the Loop (2021), Love (2022), Maturity (2023)
