Elliptical Sun has an absolute stunner of a track on their hands from the very talented Kamil Esten. Fusion is an awesome synthesis of 80’s nostalgia and epic Progressive House vibes that will make anyone listening want to get up and dance. Kamil brilliantly intertwines an infectious lead, playful arps, a groovy bass and amazing percussion to envelope you when listening.
The Sky T remix of Kamil Esten’s ‘Fusion’ is an interesting departure from the original, that both evolves the core ideas of the track while remain true to the overall retro vibe. Blending in a breakbeat breakdown and some housier percussion, Sky T brings down the tempo but keeps the groove going.

Now in its second decade, with a steady stream of the most forward thinking and cutting edge techno productions, Drumcode has one of the biggest selections of releases from industry heavy hitters, whilst not forgetting its future by bringing the newest talented producers into the limelight, where Layton Giordani is now a name firmly within that line up.

The New York born, but now EU based producer first had recognition back in 2014, and his debut release came via Drumcode with his track “Rivington” on the A-Sides Vol5 compilation in 2016. 

Consisting of 12 original tracks, the album packs a punch when it comes to no-nonsense techno. Successfully weaving relentless drums and catchy vocal hooks into a selection of thick, brooding, atmospheric tracks.

The first remix from Italian pal Musumeci, who runs his own Engrave LTD label and gets support from Dixon and Ame amongst others, is much more stripped back and reworks the track into a broody, rubbery, fulsome house cut for backrooms and late night hours. It is a real spine tingler before Peter Pardeike (a Cologne based producer and live act who has often worked with Marcus Worgull) goes just as deep. His angelic pads add a sense of elegance to the groove as it rolls on and on. When the tender vocals come in, it truly sets the track off and marks another fine release for 2DIY4.

In the summer of 1996 I bought a CD called In Order To Dance 5.
The music was intriguing to say the least. It was an introduction to all kinds of techno, from experimental, hard or minimal, to soulful and warm.
One of the tracks that stood out for me was Mengs Theme by Point Blank AKA Secret Cinema. It was a 7,5 minute intense musical trip with overwhelming repetitive melodies and hunting percussion.
Mengs Theme remained one of my very favorite tracks since that summer.
Re-releasing it on Green with my own remix is nothing but a big honour.
