Multi-genre music producer, DJ and promoter from NI.

Ben started dj'ing in 1999 and as he was living in Colchester he started handing out demo tapes to as many of the London promoters as he could. His lucky break came in 2000 when he secured his first gig closing the second room at Elation, an all nighter in Vauxhall. Slowly but surely the gigs started coming in; Coventry, Birmingham, Colchester and eventually a residency in Manchester at Elysium. Ben was booked for FutureVibe, Vibealite and started his own night in Colchester called Excite before moving home to NI. Ben was also hosting a weekly 2hr show on London Live and Direct, a pirate radio station and when it was shut down he moved onto livestreaming.

In NI, Ben and his wife (ex), started Born to Dance in Bangor - a dedicated Happy hardcore event. After nearly a year they started System X in Dungannon and as the scene was growing exponentially they were asked to move to the mighty Trax in Portrush. Ben was working heavily with Scottish promoters and dj's and was fortunate to get sets at Fantazia. Ben had been booked for Planet Love and eventually hosted an arena there.

Ben was also producing music and had 1 remix signed to Evolution Records and a record on Executive Records.

Ben put his music career on hold to pursue a career in aviation after moving to Scotland but it wasn't long before he was asked by Ultimate Buzz to join the band. He produced 2 songs for Ultimate Buzz, one of them with Kevin Murphy. 


Ben is now known as 8Trak and has 5 releases, with another 5 waiting in the pipeline. Their events are held in Portrush and Newry. 

Ben loves using vinyl, especially on 3 dex but as his tunes are on mp3 he is adept at switching between the 2 platforms.
