We have been longing to have in our collection a mix by the respected and admired Russian artist No Rules. Finally we have it in our podcast series and it's amazing. No Rules has released a multitude of works on numerous major labels such as Cylon Recordings or Onset Audio among others, in addition to debuting on our label in the compilation “Ethereal Matter”, and now the artist from Moscow gives us a heavy mix where he reveals his personal sound style, always traveling between the most experimental, dark and twisted Halftimes rhythms. We leave you with a journey that features a wide and eclectic musical selection of numerous artists, an impressive work that will delight your ears!!!

Parasite - Shadow Prophecy

Hailing from Mexico, Rainforest - aka Rodrigo Alvarez and Bwoykah ;) is not new to the worldwide Jungle / Drum + Bass scene. Initially starting his DJ career in 2002, he began producing music in 2004, and has since unleashed a flurry of digital releases alongside a number of vinyl offerings too. Pushing a wide range of music aesthetics in every single production, he always manages to focus on trying to make all his tracks sound a bit different from one another.

With a long list of labels supporting and releasing his music over the years, including: 45SEVEN, ALPHACUT, OFFISH PRODUCTIONS, AGN7 AUDIO MONOCHROME RECORDINGS, and WEAPONIST.

Rainforest has also found the time and energy to launch two labels: BREAKBEAT REBELZ and BACKGROUNDS MUSIC. Both imprints serve as an outlet for his own variety of works and for other like-minded producers to explore further experimental angles of JUNGLE and HALFTIME.

DROOGS017 makes its return with a 12" courtesy of Quartz in the form of a razor-sharp two-tracker, showcasing his trademark precision and stripped-back engineering.

The A-side, “Duplicity,” is a masterclass in minimalism cold, skeletal, and immersive, driven by tight basslines and subtle rhythmic shifts. Quartz proves that less truly can hit harder.

On the flip, “Black Prism” a collaboration with Overlook dives into raw ’90s techstep territory. Choppy breaks and haunting stabs build relentless pressure before giving way to a surprisingly blissful finale.

Quartz continues to cement his reputation as one of drum & bass’s most distinctive modern voices.

Fishy returns to Offworld for his lucky 7th release with more great contemporary melodic drum and bass music.

Opening the EP, Fishy links up with Nostre for 'We Don't Talk', a deep, understated stepper washed in subtle jazz colours.
Next up is 'Days of Wonder', a light, warm roller built around soft melodic flourishes.
Fishy teams up with Professor Funk for the excellent 'Trees of Tomorrow', an uplifting off beat number with soulful spoken words that starts warm and melodic before increasing the tension as the bass filter opens up. 
Closing the EP is 'Activate', a deep, atmospheric stepper driven by shimmering pads, a wandering, curious bassline, and elegant melodic touches.
