Reach for the geiger counter - Park End comes shelling in the direction of Sneaker Social Club with some plutonium-plated, 2-stepping swelterweight gear for the grubbiest of dancehalls. All we can ascertain about the shadowy figure on the buttons for this latest release is that they’re clearly schooled in the lineage of UK hardcore, pirate radio culture and the sympathetic tenets of UKG, jungle and dubstep.

Opening up the A side, ’Same Dream’ is a claustrophobic, gnarly creeper with razor-sharp snares, growling low end and enough heads-down malaise to turn the most blissful sunrise set ice-cold. ‘The Immortality Of The Crab’ pays tribute to the fine tradition of illegal radio broadcasting and its importance for the development of rave, leaning on a staggered, mucky garage beat that smacks hard just how we like it.

On the flip, Park End turns attention to the synergy between RnB and garage with a refix of BBL Sound’s ‘BBS’, pairing the sweetest vocal chops with plenty of bitter b-line pressure, while ‘Rekt’ draws on an unnamed voice for another fission between human sensitivity and mechanised intensity. This parting shot borders on anti-anthemic by the time it reaches its peak while holding true to the pitch-black vibe creeping out around the edges of this rough diamond of an EP.

PARALLAX RECORDINGS is proud to welcome Tim Reaper to make his debut for the label. 'Dead & Buried‘ turned many heads whenever played out with it´s horror samples and crazy mentazms. And if that wasnt enough darkness 'Journey To The Moon‘ doesnt feature any horror samples and is still just as pitch-black: relentless beats, heavy sub and rushing synths guarantee all hell gallops, without anything powerful enough to stop this beast. To balance the tension the positively uplifting 'Dope Break‘ combines the rough with the melancholic and has enough punch to light up any floor at peaktime. To close the EP in style Tim supplies a remix of On 1 Crew´s 'Bad Dreams‘, an obscure little number that LTJ Bukem used to play in 93 and which was the first release on Parallax in 2016. Tim effortlessly flipped it in no time and delivered this nutty jungle techno beast. Enjoy this 'terror brought down to earth'!

Oh yes, it's always a great day when there's new Dunman music on the horizon. We've been treated to so many top-drawer, sick sneak-peeks recently, whether it's through tight-lipped teases on his socials or through outlets like his slick, 100% own productions mix (apart from primed cuts by Kozzie and Gallah) for the don Oblig on Rinse FM, there's a tonne of Dunman material still yet to come. Thankfully, we're getting a big ol' chunk of that here, and to maximum effect and ferocity. This time, he's linked up with 140 tastemakers Simply Deep for his debut on the acclaimed imprint, after memorable appearances on the likes of Southpoint, Siege Collective, In:flux, Reloaded and more, as well as his own, excelling esc_ imprint. We premiere the lead track from the project, a lick that clocks in at an aggressive 145pm and one that's already received support from Ternion Sound, providing a suave insight into Dunman's expert production. What a corker.
