Unchained presents “The Remixes” compilation, a 16 track exploration of sound, encompassing a slew of fresh music by some insanely fresh talent as well as a collection of the label’s best remixes to date. 

With a universal roster of artists from China, Europe, UK and the States, the LP continues to forward the label’s aim of discovering and embodying unique forms of fast bass music whilst staying true to the foundations of Drum and Bass. Representing China, both RADIAX and 3ASIC reinterpret two of the label’s biggest tunes by OAKK and HØST - resonating with elements of rolling DNB, Jump Up, Juke and Hardcore. From the UK, WHINEY, ROHAAN, HØST and ARKAIK deliver various mutations of grit - spanning minimal, glitch, halftime and liquid. Continuing to explore fertile new ground, contributors from Europe also exhibit their rich diversity in all things electronic. From modular wubs to halftime gems to left-field bangers WAS A BE, FRACTALE, BLACK BARREL, KABUKI and SUPB YAO probe fresh hybrid terrain. Stateside, DOCTOR JEEP continues his unfolding journey into Drum’n’Bass whilst SINISTARR meditates firmly on his Detroit roots. 

We’re also honoured to include our Unchained remix comp winners, YOOFEE and DEAD END, offering their outstanding takes on Backwitda.

“Are We There Yet?” is the sixth studio album from London Elektricity out on the 6th November on his own nineteen-year-old label Hospital Records.

Over 14 tracks “Are We There Yet?” combines beautiful chord progressions recorded from his own Steinway piano - a family heirloom passed down through generations - with perfect vocal harmonies from Tony himself, Emer Dineen, Pete Simpson and a welcomed return of award-winning jazz singer Lianne Carroll all underlain with rolling percussion and enveloping bass lines.

From the uplifting and playful opening of “Singing Ringing Tree” to the soulful “Why Are We Here?”, the spine-tingling roller “Artificial Skin” right through the deeper layers of “Dropship”, London Elektricity’s latest project incorporates a number of styles whilst still keeping to the true and world famous “London Elektricity” sound.

Best experienced in its entirety, “Are We There Yet?” maintains the live finesse which London Elektricity is known for, giving a gentle reminder to the paramount success of “London Elektricity Live” in the early 00's.

Since his last album “Yikes!” London Elektricity has continued to grow his drum & bass empire, overseeing the development of two labels, a number of talented artists and internationally renowned events brand “Hospitality”. His encyclopedic knowledge of music spans across several decades and in turn gives a unique quality to his own production as is clear with the outstanding “Are We There Yet?” LP

Jack Stevens aka Sully has become somewhat of a cult figure in the jungle world with his output being in high demand. His work is unmistakable. It’s always true to it’s origins while simultaneously adding new takes and juxtapositions in palette and composition. A true artist that excels in his field.

Stevens returns to Astrophonica with Swandive, a body of work presented in dual energies - dark & light, body & mind, Yin & Yang. In Werk you’re put to the test physically as es- ki-like percussion stabs grab the attention and demand a response. A staple in Fracture’s DJ sets for the last year or so.

Poison demonstrates a side to Stevens’ production that is harder, meaner, cruder and all together more brutal than he is known for. The result is an infectious mix of venomous bass and corrupted drum breaks fit to kill any dance.

The title track Swandive begins to counterbalance the fierce energy and bring some har- mony opening with calming strings and trademark icy melodies before elevating to an intense state of amen divinity that twists and turns in a story like fashion.

Memories completes the balance with euphoric bass stabs and emotional strings culminat- ing in a searing and conclusive anime-like solo. Some of Stevens’ most daring work. The cycle is complete.

My far east family does things with 100% heart, so it was only natural that I wanted to be part of their latest compilation "The Remixes". My take on "Sirens" by Rohaan is an emotional rollercoaster, a reflection of the times we are living in. It was a cathartic experience to produce it, and I hope you feel the same way listening.

“Supa” opens the EP with ravey sound combined with classic jungle breaks into a compelling track, “Pump Dat Rave Up” gives the name to the EP and starts with a footwork-jungle mood bringing full energy to the listener, the sounds evolve and keep on grooving all along the track, “U Got Me” makes great use of classic vocal samples and combines them with big basses, rave stabs and freshly programmed drums and breaks, while “Clappah” will make you clap your hands at 170 bpm following its enormous low end basses.
Sam AKA Samurai Breaks is a UK based Producer and DJ fusing together influences of Rave, Footwork, Jungle, Bassline, Grime and Acid into a unique high energy workout.
