Self-proclaimed 174-year-old Mark Dinimal rounds off 2020 on one of our favourite labels: Swiss-based imprint Drum Army. Described by RAM Records as 'one of the most exciting acts to break ranks from the wave of new producers which has hit contemporary drum & bass', Dinimal has proved time and time again that he's an incredibly talented, technically-gifted producer who particularly likes sitting pretty in that deep, minimal bracket on releases for ProgRAM, Vandal, Hyperactivity, SINE and more. Aside from that sound, he's also shown a wilfully experimental edge, evidenced in full on this latest EP. Perhaps the most out-there of the lot is 'The Only Techno I Ever Made', a sumptuous 145bpm cut that sees him drift outside of his comfort zone and summon a contemporary breakbeat number of the highest calibre, packed full of that aggressive Dinimal punch and thwack we've come to expect from the much in-demand Fabriclive resident. A very merry Christmas indeed.
