While I was in the studio session recording this song, I actually broke down crying and had to step outside. My recording studio is a secret spot situated atop a church in D.C. and prior to recording, I had been kicked out of my home and the most important people to me turned their backs. It was my closest friend who gave me a home in his dorm room at a university that I don't even go to. I spend every dollar I have on studio sessions because I have a fire under my ass and nothing but passion for my craft. I am homeless and with nothing left to lose.

This is a project that I decided to craft based on my perception of the damages and treatment of the black psyche.*

I consider matters like these from both perspectives presented on a day-to-day and ponder how they shape me, if they even do. I don't know. Who knows.?

On a side note, I have decided to share my story starting now so that you may familiarize yourself with myself and my situations as they unfold. Get to know me as a person as well as an artist. Welcome to the perils of a beautiful mind.*

     Living my life in public has come with confusion, frustration, spontaneity and vulnerability. But it’s also come with the hopes of one day achieving stability mentally, physically, and spiritually and hoping to be an example for others like me struggling with life, growing pains and finding themselves all while still trying to live every day.

     With my bìrd (BBK) project I just wanted people to know and understand where I am coming from as an artist first and foremost and to pay homage to @skepta for being a source of inspiration to me. I wanted to embody his fresh and raw energy in my own light while paying homage to the big homie and the BBK crew as a whole.

bÌrds of a feather flock together and the klán - serving as a ubiquitous network of positive connections - is encouraging of creative self-expression via any medium of choice.
