This is the 5th EP release for OMEN Recordings, once again with a heavy hitting Techno EP. “Torment”, is written and produced by Los Angeles based artist, AXKAN, with remixes by Berlin based producer, Luis Flores, and French techno star, UVB. 

AXKAN starts off the title track, Torment (A1), with a strong and distorted broken beat, with clean cutting snares and continues with a dirty Prophet 5 string pad melody which gives the whole release its unique melancholic character. The Distance (A2) has hard 4X4 kicks with rim shots raining everywhere in this dark, storm-like original track.

Luis Flores’ remix of Torment (B2) comes in with the perfect dramatic announcement of a broken techno master piece continuing with exciting percussive rhythms and dark melodies based on the original lead synth. UVB’s Oestrogène remix (B1) starts with a linear and powerful percussive pattern that runs throughout the track, while the recognizable lead synth is riding along in the background with soundscapes of misery. 

This EP, soon to be available on vinyl and digital formats, once again pushes the boundaries of industrial and techno together. For more info visit facebook.com/omenrecordings.

We've got something very special here for the latest Obscuur vinyl release as we welcome the truly superb Ceili to take the reigns. At once pristine and rough, there's an attention to detail which allows every sound to pop, both across the percussive opener and the arpeggio based second track. There's definitely a hint of rave warfare in here too, it's high octane stuff for an energetic crowd. On remix duties we have the ever heavyweight Hadone, who slams his foot on the gas, playing it flat out. London regular Rommek displays the breadth of his character as usual, with a fired up breakbeat style roller closing out the release

Lobster Theremin follow up a string of techno EPs with a riveting solo outing from Julian Muller. Having sculpted Lobster’s contribution to the new wave of techno-trance as part of the now defunct duo 90 Process - which he founded with Hadone - Muller has already flexed his alchemic approach to stirring up the dancefloor with EPs for techno titans ARTS, Mama Snake’s carefully curated Amniote Editions imprint, the ever-ravel Pushmaster Discs, and Berlin techno label Initial.

Title track Prosperity On Mars kicks off the four track release with a heavy club ready slice of Techno. Next up, ‘Sidonia’ is peak time rave done right. Acid lines, ominous overlays and stern kicks married with booming bass - one for the warehouse. Hands in the air on the flip, courtesy of emotional trance number, Aurora’s Night. Old skool euro-club sounds and a tongue-in-cheek approach-only for this banger. Finally, ‘Reality’ is in a similar lane, nostalgic sounds from the days gone and fun-loving machine sounds meet chunkier, darker elements for a final foray into the dance.
