When he's not writing his PhD thesis, working on the frontlines of the global health crisis, teaching at one of Australia's top universities, scaling epic mountain peaks or rocking mainstage crowds at the country's best festivals, you'll find this renaissance man toiling away in his Brisbane studio crafting some of the finest melodic techno, progressive house and electronica to emerge from Down Under this decade.

Beginning its creation before the world shutdown and completed as it once again began opening its doors, Perspective is the end result of three years of production output during the most turbulent period of history in human memory. Effortlessly moving from driving, riff-driven dancefloor stormers to deep, hypnotic melodics, funky progressive and lush, atmospheric ambient with stunning live cello from classical and electronic star Wilma, this 12-track masterpiece is the perfect example of the full stylistic depth of the Aussie innovator and why we believe he is the future of Open Records.

In a time when social media, singles and streaming rule, an album might seem like a relic of physical media or when listeners had longer attention spans. But with its unique and cohesive sound yet brilliant diversity that draws the listener in deeper with every listen, Perspective is captivating from start to finish and worthy of the weight of this classic concept. In our first discussions with Will about releasing a full-length body of work, we told him if you're going to do a melodic techno and house album in a sound at its absolute global peak, you've gotta do it properly. It’s been a rather prolific start to the year for Turkish producer Elif. Following the critically acclaimed release of her remix of Husa &amp; Zeyada’s A Little Fun on IAMHER at the beginning of February, the Barcelona-based talent now unveils her first full-length package of 2023, with the announcement of her mesmerising new three-track EP, Letting Go, on Stil Vor Talent.

Due for worldwide release on Friday, February 24, Letting Go marks Elif’s eagerly anticipated return to the long-standing German imprint, following her contributions to the Stil Vor Talent 300 VA back in 2021 with Juno and the label’s 15 Years VA compilation with Entanglement back in 2020. Kickstarting the EP with the arresting opener Let Go, Elif joins forces with German duo Stil &amp; Bense for an emphatic debut collaboration, as the three producers christen the EP with a sinister, underground juggernaut. Layers of industrial synths and intricate beats combine with rolling basslines and intermittent vocal drops and within seconds you’re locked in, riding the wavelengths until you reach the mind-bending breakdown. Next up, Elif lowers the intensity for a more playful second single, Sombre.
Created alongside long-time friend and recent production partner ,Gespona, the pair toy with melody, texture and tonality across the frisky seven-minute cut, cultivating a unique sonic palate that explores an array of minimal,
underground timbres. Last but by no means least is the resounding finale On My Own, as Elif takes the reigns for the aptly-titled closer. A dynamic solo offering delivered by an artist whose creativity in the studio seems to know no bounds, rolling grooves, shuffling rhythms and warped synthesizers shine front and centre, as Elif pulls out all the stops to conclude another extraordinary release on Stil Vor Talent.
Born and raised in the cultural hub of Istanbul, Turkish producer Elif is rapidly earning her rightful place amongst dance music’s elite. Laying claim to an abundance of internationally celebrated releases on the likes of Anjunadeep, Kindisch and Gardens of Babylon over the past few years, the prolific Barcelona-based talent has managed to carve out her own unique sonic path since emerging onto the scene in 2019, and is rapidly making a name for herself as one of the most exciting, in-demand artists in electronic music today.

The beloved identical twin duo, Lunar Plane makes their highly awaited return to Stil vor Talent with a new EP, aptly titled 'Waiting.' Fleshed out with big room-ready muscle and sustained tension throughout, the title-track and lead single 'Waiting' is a slice of catchy, dreampop-infused EBM bound to satisfy both the raver and escapist in you. Featuring their own vocals on a track for the first time, this one fuses everything you'd expect from a quality dance floor roller: high impact and elevation laced into an epic narrative. 'Je Danse' extrapolates the darker facet of Lunar Plane's musical genius, enhanced by the mystique-imbued vocals that contribute to a deeper, powerfully hypnotic experience. Sezer Uysal adds an eerie mystery and a seriously thunderous punch to this ghoulish hybrid of a track. Zombie workout mode activated. Open Records is a techno, house and electronica imprint based out of the sunny state of Queensland, Australia. Founded in the lush tropical paradise of Cairns in 2007 and now managed out of the bustling metropolis of Brisbane, Open has grown into a respected and prolific label with more than 70 releases from artists in all corners of the globe.

The Open sound is just that. Over the years we have released everything from deep, organic, progressive and tech house, to staunch minimal, hypnotic tribal, driving techno and abstract electronica.
