Open Records is a techno, house and electronica imprint based out of the sunny state of Queensland, Australia. Founded in the lush tropical paradise of Cairns in 2007 and now managed out of the bustling metropolis of Brisbane, Open has grown into a respected and prolific label with more than 70 releases from artists in all corners of the globe.

The Open sound is just that. Over the years we have released everything from deep, organic, progressive and tech house, to staunch minimal, hypnotic tribal, driving techno and abstract electronica. What has remained constant is our desire to represent the intelligent, groovy, dancefloor-oriented sound of the Australian festival and party culture, with a little help from our friends around the world, too.

Along the way we've managed to top the Beatport charts, featured in the playlists of some of the world's biggest DJs and radio shows and helped launch the career of some of Australia's most talented artists. Not bad for a crazy idea hatched in a small city in regional Australia! Big respect to everyone who has supported us on our journey, we wouldn't be where we are today without you.

I got introduced to the Techno Scene in Europe in the mid 90's. Born in France i got to hear and grow up listening to the legends like Luke Slater, Jeff Mills, Ian Pooley, Jack de Marseille, Phunky Data and of course the one and only Dave Clarke. Started Mixing at 16 years old and never lost the bug. I eventually made my way to Australia and studied for my Audio Engineer degree, i met lots of people from different aspects of life which eventually introduced me to Psytrance. I never used to know of that genre and I have loved it and made it part of my life since day one thanks to the beautiful people that make it possible. That being said it reminded me of the same environment where I mostly used to mix at "raves" for non-profit (Cover costs is essential though), as i refuse to make it a job for me, its a passion that i have and always will have. I love the Mix and i love the Techno and so I LOVE MIXING TECHNO lol. I try to create a depth of sounds involving effects and layers to give it my own feel, as always its work in progress as i always try to add new hardware and instruments but getting there. I hope you enjoy the mixes you can find on here, keep in mind they are meant to enjoy the music and the long lost imperfections of the art. =), I hope LOTS of you feel comfy enough to hear what i am trying to create as a "sound" in my mixes and can't wait to hear what everyone thinks and dislike =) PEACE, LOVE and TECHNO!!
