Open Records is proud to present Archangel, the stunning new track from Australian maestro Tonelab.

Tonelab is a solo project from Melbourne producer, composer, engineer and musician Philip Rex. Best known in electronic music circles for his work with Ian Chaplin in acts like Decoy, Rex'N'Chappo and IMPS (alongside Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson from Minilogue), Phil is also one of Australia's leading double bass players and recipient of a prestigious ARIA Award (Australia's version of the Grammy) for Best Jazz Album.

Since kicking off his solo project, Tonelab continues to excite dancefloors across the world with his trademark deep and driving fusion of progressive techno and house with releases on Traum, Wulfpack, Shadow Wulf, Evil Flow and more. Brimming with emotion, Archangel's beautiful harmonies, rising melodies and funky bass is the perfect example of the groovier side of his dynamic sound.

Returning to Open for the first time since 2017, New Zealand innovators Out Of Sorts are first up on remix duties. Delivering a slow-burning masterpiece reminiscent of their classic project Antix but dragged kicking and screaming into the modern era, this incredible rework will surely please fans of the Strom brothers young and old.

Closing the release out are Open Records label boss and AandR Jesse Kuch and Boy With Boat with another collaboration under their Boy With Kuch alias. Underpinned by a driving bassline, rolling snare fills and powerful leads, the Metatron Remix is another notch on the belt for two of Australia's most exciting new producers. Enjoy!

We are all midnight children, the ones who were born "at the stroke of the midnight hour" and all who come to the clubs every weekend for the regeneration on the dance floor. Midnight Children is a new track created by Sashanti and Yapacc specially for the India's Independence day and for the freedom of techno music. The track will be not signed to any label, but just released for the free rotation and enjoyment, for DJs who play house music. It has been recorded in Berlin in July 2015 with the help of classical musicians from Deutsche Oper and Staatsoper and the main theme became the famous speech of Jawaharlal Nehru "Tryst with Destiny" declaring the India's independence. Jai Hind.

Friday Lights Music is kicking into the summer of 2018 with Matt Dwellers magical release ’ANKARAZ’. ’’Ankaraz is an imaginary place in my mind that I enjoy to get lost in’’ as Matt explains it himself. 
For us, this release is a statement of Matt’s sound, fantasy, and abilities. 
The Original mix takes us to Matt’s world. It is melodic, minimalistic, groovy and on point. 
Every time we’re playing the original, it never leaves the floor uninterested. We can clearly hear Matt’s insane abilities to create a magic trip with his typical ’Less is More’’ approach.
Remixes are really epic on this one - each one is so different but at the same time, all are very loyal to the original. 
Ankaraz (Stoertebecker Remix) is giving us the energy and the power version. Sinan’s progressive-aggressive approach is exactly the game here and we cannot see how it will not blow any trippin’ dance floor. 
Ankaraz (Prosdo Remix) is killing it by the end of the EP. Prosdo’s remix is pure techno and how well it suits the original! Kristian takes the main lead and rides it all the way with heavy techno basses, kicks, and percussions. Peak hours are the game here!

I'm very glad to present you the recording from my last gig in Tel Aviv -Jaffa. It's been time again until I managed to get a live recording. Finally it worked out at this magical place with a real special energy. 

It was a very spiritual experience to present this set in the old town of Jaffa. I would like to thank you the guests and dancers for all the love and good vibes I was able to receive. In the first moment i was really speechless about that and try still to handle it! Toda raba from the heart! 🙏
