I have no words for the feeling that night at at Afrika Burn gave me. A deep gratitude overcame me when I realized what the dance floor had been evolving to during the set and a profund tribal feeling overcame me when I saw what is possible to create when people work together with a similar vision of creativity and love. The Spirit Train and Hauptbahnhof Crew are the people that brought me to AfrikaBurn for the first time last year, thank you millions of times for giving me that honor to perform again for you guys and the brilliant idea of connecting both sound systems together. I had again the best gig of my life (to me)at  the best party in the world I could ever have imagined.;) Thank you!!!

Seth Schwarz - Afrika Burn 2017 - The Spirit Train at Hauptbahnhof - Friday Night - Tankwa

In this episode, Johanna Havemann will talk with an expert in scholarly communication and publishing Jon Tennant. He will tell us why he has decided to join the Open Science community, what are the main challenges on the way to alter the traditional publishing system, and share his tips how to contribute to the open access culture being a PhD student or a young researcher. Jon finished his award-winning PhD at Imperial College London in 2017, where as a paleontologist he studied the evolution of dinosaurs, crocodiles, and other animals. For the last 7 years or so, he has been a fervent challenger of the status quo in scholarly communication and publishing and became the Communications Director of ScienceOpen for two years in 2015. Now, he is independent in order to continue his dino-research and work on building an Open Science MOOC&nbsp; to help train the next generation of researchers in open practices. He has published papers on Open Access and Peer Review, is currently leading the development of the Foundations for Open Science Strategy document and is the founder of the digital publishing platform paleorXiv. Jon is also an ambassador for ASAPbio and the Center for Open Science, a scientific advisor for Guaana and ScienceMatters, a Mozilla Open Leadership mentor, and the co-runner of the Berlin Open Science meetup. In 2019 Norway decided not to renew their deal with the Dutch publisher Elsevier. The reasons were clear: there was no real transition towards Open Access. Now, a new deal has been signed with the same publisher, and the deal is worth around 9-10 million euros. But the question is: What kind of a deal has been made this time around? Our guest today is Mona Magnussen, the head of the department of collections at the University Library at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, The host of the program is Erik Lieungh.

Greek producer Ziger and his 'After Midnight' became of the most successful Progressive House tracks of 2018, and now Ziger opens curtains of the release with 'Transparent' - a track, the pulsing energy of which lays the world of colorful melodies onto the right path.

The Lithuanian producer Kastis Torrau signed to Last Night On Earth and Visceral from the small pinch to mention comes up with our Mexican brother Betoko (Diynamic, Einmusika, KATERMUKKE) to deliver 'Raketa' - the bass-density track, which is looping you into the vibe with its crazy electric sounds from its first seconds till the last ones.

Our French friend Acumen, the label owner of Time Has Changed Recordings and the artist with a rich catalog where Selador, Leena Music, Tenampa just some to match, does 'Puppet' - a great melodic tune fitting to roll the mood of the night.

A very promising live act, the professional violinist and the producer from Germany Seth Schwarz puts his music mind together with Stephan Zovsky for 'Ometion' - lyrical and rich on progressions track, that's what we are very big fans of here.

Turkey-based producer Deniz Kabu combines a perfect match of the vocals, the progressions, and the acid sounds into a track which is called 'In A Life'; the track which has already seen another perspective from Diynamic label-boss Solomun during his sets.

That's how the unknown spots from the world illuminate all the spots of our big planet with music, as we set no boundaries. As a 'must'.'
