Hey, cool that you take time to read this ;) ...Hope you're doing well! ...I'm not sure if I should feel sorry about the fact that I didn't  create a new relaxdaily tune for a few months or not. Time really flies. And I was actually pretty busy in the second half of 2013: I did two film trips to capture new video footage for this channel (you should be able to see some results later this year!). Also it took some time to re-master the relaxdaily tunes from the last 12 months to finally publish them on iTunes & Co (yes, I always find something to work on to make it sound even better for everyone who's so awesome and supports my work with a paid download!!). Plus, I'm such a dreamer and thinker! You could lock me for a month into an empty room (please with a notebook and a pen) and most likely there wouldn't be a minute of boredom. Instead I would make plans about the future, what I want to work on next, how I would do it, basically dreaming up a delicious future ;)
...But here's 2014. And after a quick Christmas Music intermezzo (my last creation – borrowing established melodies for the first time), I finally took a few days time to make N°074 happen. 
The video is pretty much all of the footage I collected in Tuscany last summer that has some sunset feel in it. I had a great time with two really great friends ;) of mine over there... (Italian pizza, red wine, “una birra grande per favore”, or “tre caffè per favore”, are helpful phrases to get through the day there ;) 
It was on that trip, when I learned that I need a new kind of glass (lens) for my video work: something with a more narrow angle, a lens which only captures a part of the scenery (I now have a Leica R 90mm – build in the 1970s - for that).
...What else... well I hope I can create more great tunes in 2014. Creating music feels to me like THE thing to master in my life, so hopefully I can focus on that this year.

I wish you a great time. ...I seriously believe we're living in the one of the best times on possibly the best planet in the galaxy right now. Let's honor that and simply make the best out of our time here!

A gentleman we called "The Green Man" lived in the area where I grew up. His name was Raymond Robinson and he lived from 1910-1985.  He was known to walk from his home up to a tavern where he would meet friends. Or make new ones. This tunnel was on his way.  Apparently he would only walk at night; and we thought this was because his face was very disfigured from a work accident and differently colored.  People said he was a very nice man. I never met him.  But I did go looking for him.

Besides the one who lived by me, there are other mentions of someone called "The Green Man".  Maybe this refers to Raymond when he lived somewhere else.  Or maybe products of the imagination.  Or maybe there is someone else somewhere who also fits the description and has that name. Our Raymond was a real person.  I made this song a little mysterious because this is how some people thought of him.

Writing "Then and There" started 7 months ago with three notes and a spark of promise. It was finished this week when the 3- note spark fanned into flame.

This beautiful song is composed by my dear friend Bingzhu, and he allowed me to polish, edit and produce it into a wonderful sweet and loving song.
We sincerely hope you will enjoy this journey just as much as I did finishing it.
I am honoured that Ralf trusted and allowed me, to make it into a full production.

It's my dream: that it would be so romantic if every human in the world would say to his or her loved one, dear sit down and listen to this wonderful song I discovered for you, and I want to enjoy this journey together with you by my side,....... the world would be a different place for sure.

This way I also wanto thank all people who send me personal messages with all their different stories, I will write you personally, but it is too much for now, I realy never expected this respons at all, but believe me that I thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your emotions and sharing your feelings and stories, I am glad this music can create all this.

This version is the requested HIGH quallity release, and I added some instruments wich were missing when I listened to it in my new studio, this version matches my quality standards.

This was primarily an ambient track, but then a harmonic and rhythmic content showed up in my mind, and a couple of lines of lyrics immediately followed, so I guess it turned to be some kind of experimental ethnic desert blues... I don't know whether I'm right or wrong, I'm not so good at labelling music.
It's all about Africa, quite obviously. What if the same panic that many people in Western countries are experiencing now because of COVID-19 was a permanent condition? What if beside epidemics we had to face wars, famines, poverty, rapes, violence and structural corruption every single day of our life? I had these and other questions in my mind while recording this tune...
