A week ago I listened to this piece on David Ackerman's cloud http://soundcloud.com/deephod/pegasus
And felt like adding some "sprinkles" of ambient piano, so I commented on the track. David wrote me a message asking if I have time to do something like that. This is the result - just one take improvisation played along David's track.

Shift: Reckless Abandon- inspired by Henry Koek "I don't Mind"

Now here´s something little different from my usual instrumentation, only one guitar, no echos, delays and such mess. I just wanted to get a few `introverted things´ purely into music, some meandering stuff...probably somehow familiar ;-)
The chord going was almost structured, the concrete playing, 1-3 flaws and many details rather improvised.

Ghana

A gentleman we called "The Green Man" lived in the area where I grew up. His name was Raymond Robinson and he lived from 1910-1985.  He was known to walk from his home up to a tavern where he would meet friends. Or make new ones. This tunnel was on his way.  Apparently he would only walk at night; and we thought this was because his face was very disfigured from a work accident and differently colored.  People said he was a very nice man. I never met him.  But I did go looking for him.

Besides the one who lived by me, there are other mentions of someone called "The Green Man".  Maybe this refers to Raymond when he lived somewhere else.  Or maybe products of the imagination.  Or maybe there is someone else somewhere who also fits the description and has that name. Our Raymond was a real person.  I made this song a little mysterious because this is how some people thought of him.

Just accidentally toasted an older version of this track - this a remastered version. If you liked it before, I hope you'll like it again! 

When this track started to solidify it felt very thick sonically ...thick in a nice way - lots going on. I'm still working on the notion of trying to find the sweet-spot where dissonance and harmony rub up against each other - kind of an extension of my exploration with Kensho. The picture is remaniscent of Klaus Schulze and Pete Namlooks Dark Side of the Moog albums which is sort of where some of my initial ideas started. The CS-80 and Matrix 12 combine a Schulze/Namlook thing with a hint of Vangelis. Hope you enjoy the track.

Something sparkling, celestial with full harmony and bass parts - you wouldn't believe it. It's like a sweeping chorus of heaven, and it's just slowed down, they didn't manipulate the tape at all. So I think when Wilson slows people down, it gives you a chance to watch them moving through space. And there's something to be said for slowing down the world."
