These are the last 25 minutes live performance of Open Synth MIDI Orchestra. There live improvising electronic music with a stricly hardware setup, just synths, samplers, sequencers, grooveboxes etc. (the laptop you see is for the DJ afterwards). The Video where recorded on 6th of February 2016 the Upperground party @ Indiego Glocksee (Hanover, Germany).

So there it is. The Set that both of us would probably describe as one of our sickest experience. Playing the closing set at Schuhkarton on the opening Night was ridiculous and we are thankful for every single one who danced their asses of in the morning! 3h live and improvised #dawless jam - 7 people and a bunch of synths.  I am really glad that the video and audio recording worked out that long. Mostly we need approximately 1h to find our groove. There is someone with a flute and real singing involved and someone doing real percussions but sadly not visible with that camera angle.

We formed this combo 8 years ago - the Open Synth MIDI Orchestra - born from the wish to perform electronic music live. No tracks are prepared and everything is improvised. We started with 5 people back in the days, today were 5-8 people depending on who has the time to play a gig.

Open Synth MIDI Orchestra - Live @ Indiego Glocksee 2019-12-26

In the beginning of 2009, born from the wish to present electronic music live, an open stage for live acts was founded in Hannover. An important part of this periodical evening were the joint jam-sessions with the restricion to pure hardware equipment. This was the foundation of the "Open Synth" project.


Open Synth consists of 5 musicians, each one having their own musical background, who have been organizing and creating several projects in Hannover (from parties, decoration & visuals to DJing and live-performances).
Open Synth is always live and always improvised. The musical ideas of every member influence each other and create a new and unique set each time.
