"The Turtle Project" started out as exactly that, a project, a songwriting project that was born from years of being a musician in many bands, doing countless gigs, naturally gathering experience and inspiration until, one day, I stumbled upon the fact that I could actually put those experiences and many others into words. The composing aspect grew from that into what it is today ...

Mathieu is an independent musician exploring a DIY, lo-fi and intimate universe, at the crossroads of post-punk, krautrock and experimental post-rock. His tracks move between raw atmospheres, airy guitars and hypnotic rhythms, creating a climate that is at once fragile, poetic and deeply sincere.

Alongside his solo explorations, he forms with singer, writer and painter Mireille "Mimi" Lévis the duo Spleen Overseas, a French-Canadian project where melancholic poetry, raw sound textures and hints of indie bossa meet. Together, they create an alternative, intimate and timeless music, nourished by their personal experiences as well as a shared artistic sensitivity open to poetry, painting and improvisation.

Mathieu  est un musicien indépendant qui explore un univers DIY, lo-fi et intimiste, à la croisée du post-punk, du krautrock et du post-rock expérimental. Ses morceaux oscillent entre atmosphères brutes, guitares aériennes et rythmiques hypnotiques, créant un climat à la fois fragile, poétique et profondément sincère.

En parallèle de ses explorations personnelles, il forme avec la chanteuse, autrice et peintre Mireille "Mimi" Lévis le duo Spleen Overseas, projet franco-canadien où se rencontrent poésie mélancolique, textures sonores brutes et touches de bossa indie. Ensemble, ils construisent une musique alternative, intime et intemporelle, nourrie aussi bien par leurs expériences personnelles que par une sensibilité artistique ouverte à la poésie, à la peinture et à l’improvisation.
