[Artist Bio]
Gena Ivanov aka Brother G is a Ukrainian DJ/producer. Being one of Ukraine's young electronic music scene pioneers, he started playing in clubs and took the first steps into producing in the late 90s, repeatedly changing his sound from hip-hop/jungle/idm to the deep & warm techno and house music you hear today.

Brother G has also published a series of releases under other aliases; G- Transition, Evdokeem, Target 27 and Head 278 on various labels around the world such as Rawax, Boe, Udacha, Rough House Rosie, Denkbar, Chevengur Melody, Manuscript, Sale/Nova and his own imprints; Gravitysurfer and Mysterious Russian Soul.

Tomash GHz a Berlin based record collector, modular enthusiast and designer of electronic instruments. 
Set on a continuous acoustic journey, Tomash Ghz fully embraced his passion for seductive minimal grooves by working alongside some of the most talented local and influential international artists at Klubd Nicosia in Cyprus. His sounds are influenced by hypnotic minimalism, deep bass lines, travelling atmospheres and broken beats, regardless of genres; his musical ideas emerged through labels such as Soul.on, Handcrafted, Melotherapy, DubGestion and Capodopere besides others.

In keeping with the OpenLab spirit, musical selections - from hidden gems of the past to yet unreleased material - will be distinguished by their timelessness, not their trendiness. Afriqua and his co-host, Steph, will discuss ideas from their cozy living room in West Berlin.  

On Episode 1, Afriqua breezes through a mix of forward thinking Hip-Hop and lo-slung, disco informed dance music, punctuated by diverse ambient selections. Afriqua and Steph discuss how they’ve gotten through the uncertain times with a positive and productive headspace.
