In a sweet hybrid of 90s house and minimal tech, Louiv’s got the controls for the next hour.  For episode 101 of the podcast, we’re bringing it back to basics, with stripped back rhythms, classic cuts and some of 2021’s biggest releases.  Born in Mexico and now stateside, Louiv’s passion for sound “evolved from the low-fidelity of underground techno and clean scenes of serenity,” now sounding smooth & emotive, gravitating towards a “blend of textures and groove with a minimalist ambience”.

Since kicking off his imprint Texture Summit in 2019, Louiv’s been a key player in the San Francisco underground dance scene, bringing through the likes of Rhadoo, Francesco Del Garda, Youandewan and Liquid Earth, as well as Mantra Collective favourites like Sepp and Dewalta. 

Alongside Texture Summit residents Zacky, Volen, Pily & Sânti, Louiv is building a name synonymous with ‘selector’, crafting fluid and high octane sets with raw drums, slamming basslines and little room in between.

I grew up listening to the radio or better said, the radio grew me musically, infected me with a visceral need to select the music I loved and tape it on cassettes.
