We would like to welcome you to a new addition to our weekly radio this week from none other than Johnny Yen (Archaic Future Sounds). 
 
DJ, selector and vinyl digger Johnny Yen started his career in the mid-2000s by organizing and performing raves in a Viennese night club in a former pedestrian underpass. A subversive supporter of the underground scene, he has curated and played hundreds of club events. 
 
In his Vinyl-only sets he loves to mix various styles like Leftfield-, Balearic-, Afro Cosmic- and Italo Disco with New Beat, EBM, Electro, House , Techno and Trance, not only vintage but also contemporary productions from his Collection of 12,000 records. Since 2009, Johnny's has been hosting the Disco Frisco DJ Mix Podcast and the event series of the same name with great passion. In 2021 he founded his label for contemporary electronic music Archaic Future Sounds.

quando conversamos com o Simas, ele compartilhou um pouco sobre ele e nós achamos interessante dividir algumas das coisas e transmitir como ele sente/ enxerga a música. em seus últimos anos de escola, ele estava descobrindo mais sobre o que significa “ser um dj” e adquiriu suas primeiras turntables. sendo assim, mais um passo para chegar na conclusão de que música é uma linguagem (ele também cita que foi um processo muito natural e sem precisar “pensar” muito, conseguia se conectar com as pessoas enquanto também se expressava). outro ponto daora é que pra ele, a música tem, de verdade, um poder de cura, e por isso ele segue com um cuidado muito grande com a emoção que ele deseja transmitir para quem esta ouvindo. convidamos a tds para acompanharem mais sobre o Simas e agradecemos a ele pela participação :) 📝👁

 Simas shared with us a little bit about his journey through sounds and his passion for music. he got his first turntable in his late years in high school and since then he developed a strong passion for sharing music. in his own words, music has a true healing power and because of that he is very careful and thoughtful about the music that he is willing to share. this set is very special to us and we hope you love it just like we do :)

SOLRESOL EPISODE 014, August 3, 2022

New Born is a group of four Italian immigrants who all lived in the area around Ulm/Bavaria.

Primarily they sang more Italian songs and were more on the traditional side of Italian music.

This record is a perfect example of what can happen when the drummer says “Let´s jam” to the musicians. The outstanding track “Galaxy” came out, the vibe of it is like an early piano house track and a hybrid of cosmic and disco.

The original copy of the record is nowadays a highly requested collector´s item, that skyrocketed in terms of prices. Originally released as a 45 single in 1981 the record was pressed in a very small run. Try to find a unicorn it’s easier.

We decided not to do only a simple reissue of it, we asked the creme de la creme of cosmic disco to make us a new born version of the track “Galaxy”. Camp Cosmic aficionados Albion & Alexander Arpeggio are responsible for two mesmerizing versions of this song. On top, we pressed the whole record as a 12″ from the original master tapes.

This Layer brings back memories from dark and sweaty dungeons of Paris filled with hedonistic and psychedelic discotheque music.

Adrien born and raised in Paris, owner of 'Garçons infideles' and creative director of the 'Iro Paris' fashion brands, resident DJ at the club 'Petit Palace' in Paris.

2020 is the exceptional year for Adrien Albou. Together with his good friend Niv Ast they released debut EP on Optimo Records called 'Beau Chien'.

Manfredas is envisioning this set in a very unique way, in his words:
“These days I usually have one day a week that is only listening to music, so basically it’s the abstract summary of that. Searching for new things, but also going deep into my personal archives. I dare to say most of it is dance music, but not for clubs. More like going into that strangle place in our heads where we dance now. I like that space, it's much more loose, not so much locked in usual tempos and structures.”
